I went for a spectacular ride yesterday with Interceptor 650 member Twocoolcliders and thought I would post a couple of pic.
I met Toocool at the Bridge over to PA, and just getting their for either of us is a great ride on mostly backroads.
From there we took the Roller Coaster Thru the Pines road that I posted about last year........just an incredible up and down
and winding trip thru state parks. From there we traveled up to Shahola Pa, across a beautiful bridge to NY state on the other side
and had a tasty take out lunch at Clancy's Coffee Shop. Met an older gentleman there (older than us!) who was admiring our bikes
....thought they were beautiful, and reminded us the route we were about to take is rated as the 2nd most scenic highway in the
USA, with Route 1 being tops, I think. We road Route 97 down to the famous Hawsknest scenic spot and biker hangout.
Due to it being Thursday (I am on vacation), and due to Covid, to some extent, their were hardly any people on the roads and only
2 guys parked at Hawksnest. From there we travelled further down to Port Jervis and over the mountain past the HighPoint monument,
the highest spot in NJ, and down to the back roads I normally ride, where Toocool and I went our separate ways. He wants to do it again
Sunday! I would do it in reverse this time, a little over 4 hours including the quick bite, but I think it will be a madhouse due to Mermoriial
Day weekend, so might delay it. Posting some pics incl me with Guinevere. Enjoy!

Nice!  Those are some great roads up there.  Each of the last two summers I've done five day moto trips up from Wash DC to NY and PA -- though, alas, not on an RE.

That's what it's all about brother, and the minimal traffic only adds to the bliss. Hope you can do it again on Sunday.

I grew up in central NJ (Hunterdon County) and spent a lot of time on rolling hills and country roads... but we didn't know anyone north of I-80, and never saw this part of the state.

It all seems so perfect - good pavement, no traffic, lovely weather, pristine scenery, and a willing, fairly nimble "British" single.  Oh, and a partner in crime...

If I were still there I'd be seriously wanting to join you next time - these kinds of roads seem to be where these bikes truly shine...

As it is, our nearest "high point" is 13,500ft... and riding's been good here lately, too...

I figure if it can haul two people and 40 kilos of strawberries 50mph uphill at 7,500ft, it's working...

Now THAT is an awesome scene! That looks very much like the kinds of places Noralee/Itchyboots travelled. If you lived near me I would INSIST you join me for a ride! Where are you located now and where was that shot taken? Guinevere and I have not been above around 6,000', and that was in the Blue Ridge Mountains last August...........when the world was much more normal, though not totally.
Will put up a pic or two. Thanks for posting.

Hey Ringoism, any thoughts on the M/C tourism situation in your area?  ???

I have a tour booked for Spiti / Ladakh this July with Karan at Epic Tours, Manali. No one seems to know what to think... Waiting to hear if it's cancelled. Last I heard Monasteries are all closed, No Visas being issued...  :P

Well if you ever jump the pond I am only about 90 min from NYC, but a bit in the sticks, as you may know, though really only 20 miles from Route 80, the highway that crosses the USA. You can ride Guinever and I will take Bjorn, my V Strom, or maybe I will have a Continental GT by then. I would love to ride the backroads in the UK, though not really keen on tours, I would probably schedule it all myself. I am doing the Blue Ridge Parkway again starting June 21st, alone this time, and an abridged version, to avoid populated areas totally. So perhaps a 600 or 700 mile trip this time, instead of 1,000. But it will again be spectacular, and I get to do it totally at my own pace..........
