Is it typical procedure to replace the Shifting "FORK"(not the bellcrank) during a left to right conversion? Or did Hitchcocks send me one as a "wear part" replacement "just in case"?

I found a used 4 speed for $250 and cannibalized it. I had to swap a couple internal bits due to wear, but I got a working shifter out of it and a spare trans to play with. The LH brake was done with a new lever & fulcrum stud, maybe $40 USD.
