Hello,

I got my RE Int650 on the 3rd of July and absolutely love it. However, I am dealing with this issue, i.e. the squeaking noise audible only when the handlebars are turned to the left and a bike slowly moves backward. I have about 480 miles. Here is the video. Any thoughts?

Brake disks still bedding in? Get yourself to the top of a large hill with little traffic, and commence backing down and braking as you go. A couple-few rearward slaloms might scrub away those squeaky squealies.

I'll be with you in five. Right now I'm on "brake."

So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

I thought that after 530 miles, the bedding-in process would sculpt the pads and rotor so that they mirror each other, maximizing the contact area between the two surfaces, but the noise is still there.  :-\

Well, it could be a bit of the pad sort of shorn off and lodged in there somewhere. Then again, a sticky wheel bearing or rubbing dust cover or a little chunklet of road debris might also make that sound. I presume you've already had that first 300 mile service done, but how far's the dealership? Were it mine, still under warranty and all, I  might bring it on back for them to give it a looksee. You've already got a great little film perfectly illustrating the symptom, which is already 90% of the way towards its diagnosis. I mean, you won't just be standing there in the service area telling them it makes a squeaky noise and then suddenly not be able to make it do it, which would be par for the course, right? You won't have to be that guy standing there in his leathers going, "Eek!...Eek!...Eek!"

My Zero's stock electric motorcycle front brake squealed when cold.  Replacing the brake pads with the EBC brand solved the problem.

Hey did you fix it? What was the problem?

I just purchased the same bike and it has the same squeal!

Hi Damir,

Yes, I did. The Permatex silicone ceramic extreme brake parts lubricant took care of it. This video was very helpful, too. Hope this will solve your problem also.

Mike

I've put grease on the hub of the wheel. Also between the speedometer and hub. It made the squeal go away  :)

I'm going to have to check this out.

At around 200 miles, I was slowing down, and I heard a "beeping" that I thought was an alarm, but it slowed as I did! Seriously, it was loud enough to clearly hear through my helmet and earplugs.

Between roughly 20-40 mph there's a loud squeak. Not related to braking or turning. I checked the wheel later, and there's one spot in it's rotation that's not as smooth.

That is EXACTLY what I had. EXACTLY like that.

Isn’t that what your warranty is for? Why stuff around with it yourself if it seems that there’s a problem?
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

Indeed, true.

I rode to work today - no squeak at all.
