Description:  Painted the master link after thoroughly and completely de greasing it. I've been doing this on all my bikes since I was a kid. Makes it easier to spot the master link when removing the chain for cleaning and inspection.  Plate and keeper clip are on the inside of course and also painted.

That's a great idea, but I'd put the clip and removable plate on the outside so you can easily see if the clip has fallen off.

(happened to me once, and I caught it before the chain fell apart completely)
