Title: Paying Karma Forward
Post by: GreenForce82 on February 10, 2012, 03:58:19 am
I am responsible for this thread being gone... I posted something too much towards the for sale side of things, but I am getting desperate and it was late at night so I must not have been careful enough about how I worded it. anyway I am starting it up again just in case it doesn't get put back... why my post wasn't just cut and the whole thing is gone is beyond me...

So What do I have to offer... not a motorcycle but I do have the original Exhaust system with the bazooka and the head pipe, although I scavenged the threaded hose that hooked up to the breather, to use when I did the breather elbow restoration, I figured it could handle the temps and fumes better than anything and it works great... so that hole would have to be filled. I also have stock headlight from a 2006 classic, and a taillight and turn signals from my dads bike cuz when he got his he went to the bullet style right from the factory... so to recap

Stock headpipe for Iron Barrel (with threaded hole)

"Bazooka" Muffler

Headlight

Taillight Assembly (06 classic black)

Front Blinkers Stock Style

Mickey mouse ear mirrors. (left one tentatively spoken for as of 2/11/12)

All can be had for shipping and any extra you want to throw in to help a fellow out, cuz I am unemployed and gas is a precious commodity.

God Bless Us, EVERYONE!!!

Are the Mickey mouse mirror the stock ones?  I'm in the need of the left side head. Ill pay Post to Canada? PM or text me if they are. Got some from DS.

I have stock five inch headlight bulb and trim available for an interesting trade. I have no use for it, so who knows what I'll agree to.

Stock lolly pop trafficator turn signals available soon too. (Left rear one has dog bite teeth marks in the plastic chrome...long story... Lol  lenses and bulbs all good. fronts mint, no connectors on set swiped them for the new bullets)

Cleaned out the garage a bit and found some bits I am willing to part with for the cost of shipping.

95 air filter box (black) still has the filter and possibly a rats nest inside

95 battery case/cover (black) I don't think I have the old style square catch can that    mounts under it though.

95 round gas cap- Enfield letters and dented on top, round with cog like grippy profile.

95 Forward Kick stand that attaches to the left front engine bracket

99 front engine brackets (black)

500cc Iron barrel, looks to be in very good shape with only 4000 miles on it.

500cc piston- seems to have some mild scuffs on the front and rear skirt as well as a scratch in the crown from when it hit the frame tube when I was dropping the motor out of the bike.. Ooopps

95 timing cover.  This cover has the old style bolt that goes all the way through the oil filter housing (and a second spot for a potential leak) as opposed to the newer style that the bolt is tapped into the cover.

Sorry to see the original thread is gone.  When I saw this thread before I bought my bike I knew this was a good community.

Just wanted to post and say I passed my stock C5 mirrors along to a fellow board member who needed them, no charge of course and I paid the postage myself just to give a little back to the community.

In turn, I'll post something - a brand new Battery Tender Jr:

I mistakenly ordered two when I bought mine.  In fact, Ice, if you pay the shipping on the saddle can, I'll do the same for the Battery Tender!   :)

Ice - I got my saddlecan in the mail last night.  Thanks Again!

Oh!  And look it here.....  My black cat, Marley, just brought home the biggest mouse I've ever seen and puts it on the floor right by me.  Gross dude.     :o  Actually it's kind of funny, at the end of spring he was outside for a full 24 hours.  He finally comes back all jacked up covered in pine sap and barely able to walk.  I came to the conclusion that he was climbing a tree, got attacked by a bird and fell out of the tree and punctured his skin by his lung/s.  He didn't go outside for a couple weeks.  Then when he did, he ran for cover every time he saw a bird flying above.  Well, a couple months go by and he's back to himself.  Kind of.  In the last 6 weeks he has killed or maimed 4 birds, 2 mice, and 2 grasshoppers.  And he keeps bringing everything inside and dropping on the floor in front us like "Hey!  Look what I caught you guys!  It's just for you!"

Had to share that, because that is how I woke this morning.  Poured a cup of coffee and saw this.   ;D

ANYWAYS...  Thanks Ice for the saddlecan!

Your cat is probably trying to tell you, "Hey dude.  I found this really neat toy and playing with it was a blast while it worked.  After a while the dam thing broke and it won't go by itself anymore.
I know you can fix stuff so here's your chance to show me how it's done."

Actually, we've had several cats that became fanatics about playing fetch.  Their favorite toys were wadded up cigarette packages which they would drop next to anyone sitting in the room.
Pick it up and throw it anywhere and like a streak the cat was on it.
After a few whacks with the paw and a bite or two, the cat would return at a fast trot and drop it again saying, "Do it again!"

Ha ha ha!  Yeah, a stray that moved into our house likes to chase hair scrungies.  She wants to chase hard and slam into the wall or something, then trots back and drops them next to me.  She eats crickets and spiders, never brings them to us.

Marley was a stray that we rescued when he was only a few months old.  He LOVES being outside and he catches all of these critters in the wild!  One day he brought home a bird, that wasn't dead yet, and gave it to our other cat out on the porch, Emma, and she starts laying on her back and tossing this poor bird up in the air acting like it was a catnip toy.  20 minutes later, it was missing its head.  It's funny and entertaining.  Until I have to remove the carcass.

I've got my tender on the way so I started digging for those last few Enfield parts that I
still have....   only thing left is an e-start motor and harness and I'm NOT paying
shipping on that.
Went down to our local Farmers Market and picked up a couple bottles of fresh
local grown and processed Garlic, 1 powder and  1 granules.

I'm also a HUGE pepper freak!  I keep 4 different kinds of ground pepper in the house, my favorites being ground jalapeno and ground cayenne pepper.  I also enjoy grilling jalapenos and pabalono pepprs with jack cheese when I'm grilling/smoking meat.  SUPER yummy!   ;D

I have some bits and pieces that could go to new homes...and am in need of a thing or 2 myself:
I have: a set of low profile mirrors
a stock air box for  05 Bullet ES 500
            a wind screen
a set of foot pegs (chrome)

I am in need of a crankshaft and a Mikuni TM-32 carb for a CLUBMAN build...or to keep it simple crankshaft flywheels.

Well, I've been looking for a windshield for some time now.  As for RE stuff, I have an air filter that is not for my model. I believe it would be for an AVL or Iron Barrel.  I also have a bunch of XS 650 stuff.
What does your windshield look like?

Got a take off pair of Avon tires for you. Removed from a 2005 RE Military with 735 miles on the clock. I went to a set of Dunlop K70's and the original tires need a new home. Pay for the shipping and roll of plastic wrap and they're yours!

I have a good condition 3XL Fieldsheer mesh jacket and the OEM mirrors from my 2011 B5 available, would love to trade for other fun bits. Looking for a Harley exhaust, an extra seat that I could use to play around with making a lower seat for my wife, she could use some riding gear as well...women's large, sz 12, typically....but will consider whatever you feel like trading.

I've got a new, unworn/unwashed RE t-shirt... this one:

(says "Loud Valves Save Lives" on the back)

It was a gift - size medium... too small for me.

PM me and I'll send it along...

Long time gone...  But hey who's counting right...

My clutch cable broke at the barrel so I got a replacement barrel from work and modified it with a dremel to fit perfectly. I was putting blue thread lock on it and reinstalling it after a test fit when my clutch lever itself broke. The retaining 'finger'? For said cable end barrel of the handle  broke...

2007 military with,  I believe, the minda controls?

Anyone have a spare laying around?

Elsewise I'll just purchase one.

Sorry been gone so long...  Tough year and not much riding done... But I'll be damned if I'm gonna let a broken clutch lever take me down for the season...

Peace brothers and sisters!

I totally forgot about them, that's where I got my helmet! Duh...

Maybe they'll have a set of black ones that will fit as I am attempting to remove all traces of chrome from my bike.

Chrome is for classics, black is for badasses!  (joking rhyme for us military riders)

Foxy's is where I bought all my parts and gear for my dirt bikes when I was kid.   :)  And honestly, I've been thinking about putting black dirt bike levers on my bike as well.  They are cheap and function way better.

Sorry Scottie - "gone" is the key word there.  I just posted to let everyone know that it's no longer up for grabs.

I ended up giving it to an older friend of mine from Scotland; wonderful songwriter, musician and singer; expert dry-stone wall builder, single-malt whiskey connoisseur; motorbike rider from way back.  He loved it at first sight (just like he did my B5), and wears it proudly!

If you need any hard to find parts, I can help source them from India. It's a bit of a fight to find and ship to the US, but I've done some for Chumma and it's worked out much cheaper for him.
There's also a lot of rarer parts here from older bikes, that can be found in the scrap markets.
I myself have a huge bunch of parts, and a 4 speed gearbox (whose mounting area on the case is cracked) , whose internals are up for grabs if anyone needs them (you cant get spares for the 4 speed boxes anymore, only full units, that too not easily)

It's been far too long since I've been on,  it it's good to be back. I am stuck using my phone,  but as technology has increased the forum is easier to navigate on a smartphone now than it was a few years ago.

I am in need if a clutch lever, just the aluminum (I think) lever, 2007 military, with the Minda (I believe) controls.  I will happily pay forward the good karma, with the gift of a gremlin bell to whomever posts that they haven't got one, or if the giver of said handle is not yet protected by a gremlin bell, they shall receive one.

I have found a close match to the stock handle, but it needs a sleeve, and the bugger wants 30 bloody dollars!  All other searches seem to result in only the sale of the entire left handle electronics and plastic stuff,  and that is not needed.

Best regards to all of my brothers and sisters, and I hope to be more active again, life...  has been difficult for quite some time...  riding and forum activities have taken a back seat.

Godspeed to all, and especially for those far enough south to still be riding, or blessed with warm weather year round, keep the rubber to the road!

Frank

Well, I received a clutch lever, so who needs a gremlin bell? The sender did not reply that they needed one, so I am paying karma forward as my word dictated. First PM with name and address, from someone who does not have a bell (in the USA please), gets one as soon as I can get it and ship it.

Bumping this thread.

I gotta clean out the closet!  If you can cover the shipping cost, it's yours:

1.  Old single seat off 350 AVL, 06.  (I got more pics of the brackets if needed).  Clean it up or recover it!
(https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/gallery/medium_12026-200517130746.jpeg) (https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=5191)

2.  Electra Oval chrome rack.  I'd say 8/10 condition.  Few small surface rust areas. Should fit G5 as well.
(https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/gallery/medium_12026-200517131003.jpeg) (https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=5193)

3.  Oval Mirrors from CWM a few years back.  Lost a set screw somewhere... who knows...  They look cool when they wobble with the vibes!

4.  Air filter.  Not sure why I have this... too small from my oem airbox.  IB filter?

Bumping this thread.

I gotta clean out the closet!  If you can cover the shipping cost, it's yours:

1.  Old single seat off 350 AVL, 06.  (I got more pics of the brackets if needed).  Clean it up or recover it!

2.  Electra Oval chrome rack.  I'd say 8/10 condition.  Few small surface rust areas. Should fit G5 as well.

3.  Oval Mirrors from CWM a few years back.  Lost a set screw somewhere... who knows...  They look cool when they wobble with the vibes!

Thanks, Dan! Got the seat today, and after a little modification, and the springs off my old seat, here it is!

That seat looks great!  Glad it worked out!  How's it feel?

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but this morning I am going to breakfast with some brothers, so I will let you know later. But just sitting on it felt better than the stock black saddle did. Thanks again, Dan! The shocks should come in tomorrow, as they are coming through the Detroit hub now!!
