Can replace the stock headlight with a 5 3/4 inch head light with an H4 bulb?
TIA
-
I could be wrong but I seem to recall someone saying there isn't enough room behind the light bulb because of the speedometer location?
I could be wrong though. :)

Yes, I did exactly that. It can be tight but it will fit.
If you get an auto light instead if a Moto light the locator tabs won't line up, but you can just tighten it in there and it shod be fine. You can also go cheap and just get a 5 3/4" sealed beam halogen at any auto shop.

You can also go with the larger chrome retainer ring and us a larger auto Halogen - looks better and brighter.

Does anyone know the part number of a sealed beam halogen headlight that will fit our bikes?
I am too lazy to experiment.
;)

Hi, I'm selling my like new, bulb & rings on Ebay, probably as cheap as you can buy just the bulb. That way you will have spares to replace broken or rusted bits. Item # 110977404258. Check it out!
Thanks, Craig McClure, Jasper Ga, USA

Thanks for your offer.
I was really just looking for the part number of a sealed beam automobile halogen headlight that would fit our bikes. Doing a search, I came up with H4467?
I know the 7" works better and looks great but is a little more expensive, just trying to get a better headlight for around $10. ;) ;)

I see where Nfield Gear now has their 7" halogen headlight on sale.
Fits everything but the C5 Just my luck. :(

of course they do!!!!
i just bought one saturday.
well at least i supported my favorite dealership.

i love the light!!

The code symbols in my Nfieldgear catalog says the # 145017/a headlight kit that the Sale takes you to will fit all 9 of the RE models including the C5.
The only thing I see about it that could be a negative is the light is rated at 55/60 watts.
If the bike is ridden at normal speeds without a lot of stops that should be OK but if it is used to just putt along and sit at a lot of stop lights that could run the battery down.

I have a 55/60 watt Sylvania sealed beam in my bike. It has never been a problem. If you were to have a problem, it's probably the stock battery.
My charging system puts out about 13.6 volts at idle with or without the light on. It goes up over 14V as the revs go up. It is plenty adequate for the system.
If the headlight assy will fit a G5, it will fit a C5, it's the same casquette.

I just bought the 7" replacement ring and took it to my local auto supply store and tired halogen bulbs in until found one that fit - took it home - put the clips around the sides and clipped on the electricals and screwed it on = took 1/2 hr.
