The UK is proposing to prohibit the sale of new gas-powered motorcycles after 2035 as part of their zero-emission vehicle program. Here is the story:  https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/petrol-ban-motorbikes/

This was mentioned some while ago, not long after the proposed ban on gasoline-powered 4 wheelers from 2030 was announced.

There's always bio-gasoline, just like bio-diesel or bio-jet fuel, it recycles the carbon as required and the proven tech already exists. It still takes 100 - 200 pounds of batteries to equal the energy density & storage capacity of 6 gallons of gasoline. Brazil has ran alcohol for years, even hoary old propane could do the trick. IF there was even a 10 pound battery that would store one gallon of gas energy equivalent we wouldn't be having this discussion. Personally I feel that the actual end goal is to force the public to purchase all new transportation equipment, equipment that is near impossible for the owner to repair. A guy with good lobbyists could make some real money doing that. It'd just be too easy to use landfills for carbon sources for liquid bio-fuel (synthetic fuel) production, but then everyone wouldn't need to buy a new car. It's that profit thing. And of course there's always public transportation. Electric trains, trams, busses & trolleys make the most sense of all in a city.

Correction - 6 pounds of gas, or 1 gallon, provides equivalent energy storage capacity to 100 - 200 pounds of batteries.

Well, sub-150cc Motorcycles is 2030, anything larger is OK to 2035 .   Though that may change at any point.

So far I haven't heard anything about preventing the sales of new ICE motorcycles in the U.S. on any particular date. Not even in California, which plans to ban the sale of ICE cars and trucks in 2035 (the last I heard and subject to change at a moment's notice, of course  ::) ) So far I haven't heard the word "motorcycles" mentioned by state legislators or the Governor when it comes to going Zero emissions and saving the planet. Which is odd, because I am pretty sure that each motorcycle produces much more nasty emissions than do cars and most trucks. Especially, when Power Commanders are installed and cat mufflers removed and replaced with race pipes (or just a noise-making tube).  :o  Motorcycles and their riders just get no respect in this country.  ;)
