2.3 or 2.4 lt/100km. It did hit high 2s when I ran at 100kmh+ for a few hours.

99.5 mpg (US), works out to approx 2.4l/100km.  I’m impressed.

During break-in I got up to 95 mpg (US). Gentle country lane riding, 35-55 mph will return 82-83 mpg. Brisk 60-65 mph running gives around 73-75 mpg. I do check at every fill up.

Same on my Classic except it has never dipped below 80 mpg US.

That's about what I get with my Meteor. I haven't seen 95 mpg, but for gentle country lane riding or brisk riding, my fuel economy is similar to yours.

Ya know, that's interesting. Perhaps Garry of the 'Economical Rides' YT channel will shed some light on comparative fuel economy on his new Classic and Meteor 350's. I'll ask when he posts a new vid. He's usually very good at responding to commenters. BTW, enjoying your FB group :)

So, ER did post a video today and did reply to my question. He will be addressing the comparative fuel economy in an upcoming video.

What's going on with the Meteor?  If I look at reviews from India, I see fuel efficiency claims around 40 kpl or better, which is better than 90 mpg.

But, look at one of these US reviews of the machine and they will give tested numbers in the sub 70 mpg range, then still say it's "good", which it is, but?    I was able to achieve that level of economy on my 10 year old 500 UCE, in city driving and without really trying.

Are these guys professional Hoonigans, or is our gasoline just that bad?

Normally, I'd turn to Fuelly for good data on any model's fuel efficiency, but even though apparently 3 owners of Meteors have joined up and configured their machines, Fuelly is still claiming that the Meteor is an "Invalid Model".  https://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle

Is this some kind of coverup?  If I need to call Rudy Giuliani I will!

Comparable to several of these responses, hovering around 86mpg (USA). City traffic & light country back roads, 30-50mph...

I’ve averaged 105 MPG (Imperial) over my first 1000 miles on my Classic 350. That’s 2.69L/100km. I’m really pleased with that especially as petrol is now almost £9 a gallon in the UK (about 11USD).

I’ve requested the Meteor 350 be added to the Fuelly database using Meteor as the model and 350 as the sub model.
Hopefully this will correct the ‘invalid motorcycle’ error.

No idea what I am averaging.  But I have just filled up with E5 and it cost me £2.089 per litre.  ( £9.50 per imp gallon )

Thank goodness I get a reasonable MPG on the bike, problem is I do mainly A and B roads which are twisty, so not that good perhaps.

The first tank full returned over 100mpg US.
The next tank full returned 96mpg US.

The speedometer shows "ECO-rating" when your doing it "RIGHT"  :)

I signed up on Fuelly , but haven't see it post anything yet ?

Just averaged 2.86L/100km over a 400km trip-meter. Much of that was 2-up and at least half going highway-ish speeds. The first time I dropped under 3L/100km. I am super impressed.

Well we're on Fuelly now.   8)

I ain't never had a real bike that got this good of fuel millage .   I don't have to even think about how much it cost $$$ to go anywhere again.   Seems like my first bike (Honda S65) might have got better , but it toped out at 56mph on its best day going down hill with a tail wind !  ;D

Nope Dexter ,

I got a Yamaha Twin Jet 100 , a CD175, and finally a CB350 in Gold Color , but Dad traded his CB450 in and got a CB750K and I inherited it later in life .

I've lost track of how many I've had.   The CB160 was a "Second Bike" while I had a Yamaha SX650 for the "Out of town" stuff.  I live in ElPaso at the time and the 160 was the "In Town" bike for running back and forth to work.  It was a "FUN MACHINE" !!!

Hay , the S65 is the only bike I've ever had that beet the Meteor in the MPG area !
 ;)

And if memory serves, the S65 would do around 60 mph flat out crouched over the tank! Impressive for 65 cc's! Of course, it probably weighed about half of what the Meteor does.

I’ve only checked one tank full so far and I got exactly 80 miles per gallon. But the bike didn’t even have barely 300 miles on it when I checked the mpg.

Thought I would add to this thread rather than start a new one.

My first few tanks, I was getting like 80-85mpg. A few tanks ago, I was down to 75mpg. I filled up yesterday (got about 1500 miles on mine so far) and was aghast lol to see that I only got like 66mpg my last tank 😮

I'm thinking that perhaps I've been getting on it a little more, and winding it up to higher revs before shifting - although I was surprised to think doing that could have that dramatic of an effect. So this tank, I am going to take note to shift a little sooner, not rev it up so much, etc. That's all I can think, as I haven't changed the places or routes I drive, ridden 2 up, increased load, or anything else I could think would impact mileage.

Anyone else have similar experiences with their 350?

Yep.

I started off with 82 USA MPG, during the ridiculously low-rev break-in period.

The next tankfuls were, in order: 74, 81, 54, 65, 61, 71, 59, 57.

Those are the ones that I have pics for, anyway. (I have a habit of snapping shots of the pump and odo when I fill up. My credit card is in my phone case, so I have the phone out when filling up.) That's not the complete list -- I guess I missed some, because I have a little over 2,000 miles on the bike now.

Those 70mph-ish long blasts to get wherever some back roads start, where I want to ride, do take a toll on the mileage.
Cheers,

Thanks for sharing that Bill!👍  Looks like you've seen quite a bit of variation as well. I guess with only one cylinder, the impacts of differences in speed, revs, etc are magnified to some extent - at least it seems that way. I will be sure to come back and update after my current tank. I really like getting at least 70mpg, was downright tickled when I got 80mpg, coming from a Honda Magna that got about 46mpg at best.

I'm still in the break in period at just about 380 miles. Topped off twice and registered about 82 MPG
I'm sure it will drop off with more aggressive riding soon.

You're quite welcome, Kev. And don't forget, there's my weight (c. 16 stone, when you include gear), and the Givi hard cases don't help any, and the force to overcome air resistance goes up exponentially with speed, and ...

Summer months when CALI gas is "normal" I get 90-100MPG.
Winter with our crappy alcohol additives, I get a little lower - maybe 80's.
Either way, I rarely fill up so I'm happy - esp when gas got to almost $8/gallon here!

i'm not into Maths. Never was (my bad). But i'm very happy with my Hunter's consumption: 43 km/1 Liter.

Most of the time secondary roads, fourth-fifth gears, 40-80 km/h. Rest, city jungle.

Is there a valve adjustment associated with the low fuel millage ?

I've learned that .10mm and .20mm makes for better fuel millage .   Rather than the .08mm and .18mm.

........

I did an Interstate ride at 70 to 74 mph last summer for a 300 mile ride.  Well that result in mpg (usa) in the low 70's.   The bike didn't like it either !
But 65 mph seems happy enough .    Mostly I ride 58 to 62 mph and average .millage in the 80's.

 own experience?

.................

Just to make sure they are NOT tight.

The last single cylinder I had was a Suzuki Savage with 4 valves that I got too tight one time and fuel millage went terribly wrong.
So
I adjust  on the loose side now ... just to be sure I'm not too tight ...
I like to think of it as "I shouldn't get too up tight and I shouldn't let my bike get that way either !   ;D
