Someone posted this over on the UK Enfield forum ( a sleepy Luddite backwater).
Seems to point to a potential problem.....

In this video he is basically telling about the problem in the engine from factory.

Inner NRB race wasn't fitted properly on the crank shaft which later started touching the cam and damaged booth the parts.

Thanks Singh, I didn't make the connection.  I've not been here much lately  - mayhem at work this time of year. Couple more days and I'll be shutting the workshop door and digging in for the winter. Haven't been on the bike for weeks. Serious withdrawal symptoms here, but the temperature has risen above freezing so perhaps I'll get some in before long.
