It'd be nice if I could meet up with some of you hooligans and another friend in the area but I will have my whole family in tow and that takes precedence.  Since my son is only two the primary scheduling influence for my whole trip is 'nap time' :)

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself, My name is Damon and I live in Des Moines, WA. Just south of Seattle.
I just purchased a 2005 Bullet classic ES with most of the Continental kit installed. It should be delivered to my house around the 1st of the year.
This is my first RE, I have been looking for one for a few years. I have been into older Datsun 510's for the last 23 years and currently have a 1972 2 door. I am looking forward to this new addition to my addictions! I will post some pictures as soon as she arrives!

Welcome Damon,

Send me an email when you get your bike.  I'd love to come see it.  I live next door to you in Kent.  I have 3 RE's.  08 Military Classic, and 2 06 Electra's.  One has a SideCar and the other is set up as my Speed Trial Bike No. 28.  Went over 80mph at  the Speed Trials in Bonneville, Utah.  Plan to do more next year.

Damon,

Welcome aboard, and have fun with your Royal Enfield!  I'm looking forward to seeing your bike, and yes, also you. ;D  I live in Roy, not too far for me to go and meet up for a ride some day.  Monitor this thread for upcoming stuff that we do.

Royal Enfield people are good people.

Cheers,
Bill

Ok, the International Motorcycle show is just one week away!  I have chosen the possible sucidal option of driving up and back from Portland the same day with my two year old in the car, not sure how well that's going to go but I guess we'll see.  I'm shocked the wife agreed so I'm just going to do it.

I'll be there on Sunday.  Anyone else planning to attend?

I think my brothers and I will be there, but will be playing it by ear as to when we'll actually go.  More likely on Saturday.

I am going over sat. Quick ferry ride and couple mile ride so will be "Enfielding" it. Free parking for bikes. 8)

Three hours on the freeway with the wife and son, no Enfielding it for me.  I still get to go so that's not so bad.  But I am jealous.

Fun in the sun, Catalina Grand Prix 1957, the way life should be.  Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the way it was in the day of real motorcycles and real men.

I watched the other one next to the one posted
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wNUl4ebXrI&NR=1&feature=endscreen.
I raced against one of those Catalina Yamahas in 1962. I don't recall the guy's name who was riding it but was one of the dirtiest riders I've ever seen.
The Yamaha was impressive with the noise it made and it was definitely fast, but the handling seemed to leave a bit to be desired.
I guess they must've sent more over here ;)
