Its 18 deg in the garage/barn but the GT started on the 5th kick.
The stock muffler/cat has been stored in the dry barn for 4 years or so , and somehow it had 1/2 pint of water in it!
Does a cat/muffler absorb water?
anyway all snowed in time to wax the skis

Condensation.  Your stored muffler is acting like a little still.  The changes in temperature and humidity cause the water in the air to condense on the inside of the muffler walls and settle to the bottom over time, giving you and your mouse family free drinking water.  If you want to prevent that moisture buildup, go to your local hardware store and buy some of that chemical that dries stuff out.  The hardware guys will know what to give you.

New lithium battery for my GT today.
It has a built in digital voltage display.. That's a bit cool.

Record 82 F here in Waco yesterday so I took The GT out for its monthly spin.    Good thing too cause it's dropping into the 20's tonight!

Ordered some new tyres today. After much deliberation and mind changing I decided to play it conservative and just go for the stock Sport Demons. They'll get the job done. Just waiting for the bt45 rear to wear out.  It seemed to flatten in the middle pretty quickly but now that it's down to a few mm of tread depth the bloody thing won't finish itself. The front's pretty bald on the sides but likewise, the middle won't go away. Been doing some long commutes lately so might as well use them up. While the rim is bare, I'll get a few broken spokes replaced.

FWIW the BT45 is fine but I just don't love how it looks, hence the change back to pirelli. Pretty shallow reason but they work well as well.

Made some swing arm spools for my GT.  The first one took ages but after I worked out the procedure and tools, the second took about 20 min. They seem to work OK and gets the back up nice and high. Getting the wheel out is a snap.

Hello from Australia,
New to the Forum and Just purchased my GT 535 a month ago.
Spent the weekend making up brackets to fit this alloy half fairing. Liking the way its looking after a lot of fiddly work to get clearance on everything.

Welcome aboard.
The bike with fairing looks nice! How do you like ride position with the bars dropped below the top clamp?

Nice job, Gizzo.

Thanks Tom. It's no cylinder head but I'm learning. Things have gone well since I stopped using cheap Chinese carbide tools and made my own HSS ones. Much nicer on my little machine.
