don't know if it's re-usable, but I recall the sender is a floating arm pivoting around a variable resistor with something like 7-8 distinct values at different levels. It's all in the workshop manual from our hosts. Probably just stuck or gummed over the contacts.

Ordered the new front bearings and internal spacer to make a start fitting up this KTM alloy wheel. Opted for some nice low-friction sealed bearings. Not as good in wet weather as fully sealed, but less drag. Won't make any speed difference, but should make tyre balancing more pleasant for me.

Thanks for replying.
Right, I took the sensor out yesterday and sprayed some contact cleaner on the resister and wiper. I moved the float arm up and down a few times then put things back together. Fuel gauge now working again. The seal is made of rubber and is quite thick, I re-used it and am quite confident that it will be fine (famous last words!).

A few days days ago I put half inch rubber spacers between my header Pipe & Muffler mounts. Somebody posted on here a while back that they cracked their stainless steel Muffler Mount. So I figured what the heck, I'll rubber Mount them and give it a try. So far with about four rides on it, it seems to be holding up quite nicely.

As described in the old topic, Big Gulp, I spent about an hour and a half standing the air Inlet for the throttle body inside of the airbox, got rid of that 90 degree Edge on the opening and rounded It Off. It's raining now so I'll have to wait for a test ride. Still have the stock size K&N filter in the Box along with the Hitchcock's aluminum Big Gulp cover that goes on the air Inlet on the box itself.

Wanted to request someone a photo by photo installation/alteration to air-box on the GT for a Velocity Stack Installation. I also read someone used a Silicon Hose between the Airbox and Throttle body as the stock hose deforms in some machines, specially in the heat here in India.

Awaiting new stock for buying an Air-Box and the Velocity Stack... ;)

No mod is necessary. Remove the side cover. Remember the screws holding the air box cover. Remove the air filter. Shove the velocity stack into the throttle body. Put it all back together.

Changed the oil and filter in my 14gt for the 4th time.  Only 2600 miles on the clock in 4 years.  Was surprised by the amount of "fur" on the magnets.  Guess its still not really broken in.  No crud on the screen.  Used my last 2 guarts of Lucas synthetic 20w50.  Switching to Shell Rotella T in the future if "we" dont part company.    Cheers,  hp

Is it safe to use 20W50 when the manual states it uses 15W50?

IMO, yes.

The low number with the w behind it is the viscosity of the oil when the temperature is 0° C or 32°F.
Unless your riding at that freezing temperature the oil will be thinner than the number indicates.

At about 40° F oil temperature, the 20w oil will be about as thin as the 15w oil is at 32°F.

20w50 is what REFTW sells/uses.  Never have found 15w50 locally.

This is what I use, have always had good success with it. It's designed for air cooled engines

If you absolutely think you need 15w50, I can ship it. Shipping oil can be done, but not cheaply.

So if you're using 20w 50 oil, how thin is the oil at 90 degrees or above like it's been here in Houston for the past month or so?

Today I fitted the instrument panel vibration damping mounts supplied by Hitchcocks. What do you know? They work.  The clocks bounce around a bit over bumps but that's OK. Hopefully I won't have to weld the bracket back together again.
