Finished rebuild after a 12 thou barrel skim to tighten the squish one last bit.

Probably should have done a proper shakedown ride first before embarking on a 150 mile motorway trip home. Oh well, it was all fine.

Oddly, tightening the squish and slightly increasing the compression seems to make it run richer. I would have thought that slightly increased volumetric efficiency due to increased CR would have made it a little leaner. I suppose it's because the tighter squish makes the fuel burn more efficiently, then as a result more fuel is burnt efficiently! ;) Will have to tweak the map down (again!).

Looking into the possibility of attaching little mirrors to my shot balls. Thanks for the idea Tom.  :)

Modified my baffle to give the gas more area to excape the can.

...let's see what it does, looks like a pipe ... hope the bike won't start playing "Condor el Pasa" now.  ::)  ;D

Finally broke the 90mph barrier! Albeit with the assistance of a gentle slope on the motorway ;)

I nearly came, not sure if from the vibrations or from the general excitement!  ::)

That's low. I've been that low on consumption only once during the run in.

Pretty good, huh? This bike gets better mileage being thrashed around the hills than riding sedately through town to work.

This may not be worth a dime, did it anyway as it makes things fit better together.

I've replaced the slightly bend airbox rubber connector with a straight silicon hose to make the stack perfectly concentric and without a gap to the throttle body.

My next move.
Those switches are a product of Liberal lawyers' attempt to protect us all from being eaten up with the dumb ass.  We need to be taken care of, you know.
OK, so you liked the soap, but never walk out of a public restroom smelling your fingers.

I Went to the Brittish & European Bike Show to help my buddies' shop.  I stood next to mine in the rain in ankle deep mud, and talked about RE bikes to anyone who stopped by.

Today I finally did the lifting surgery. Little bit of stainless welding, polishing and all was done....

....happy with the result, bit like a G50.  8)

I got it running. I charged the battery. Checked and touched up the tire pressure. Got it to fire and it quit. After that it wouldn't do much. I put the charger back on. It's a DEKA AGM battery. I took a ride on my 1982 Nighthawk 450. The temp had climbed to 41 degrees with the Sun out. Tried the GT again. Started and sounded good. Got gear on and re started. Back to normal. Got some gas, 89 octane, 1.59 Gallons. It was a good ride, about ten miles. After getting back I hit the fuel tank with 1 and a half + ounces of Seafo a m. Now they're bundled under Dowcos, having burned out the water from having two feet of snow drop last week.

Where did you find the ball mounts that are screwed into you standard rear view mirror locations?  I've been trying to find them since I saw this pic love the idea

got the tail light lens sorted.  Also, put on some new blinkers.  Don't like the look of the red though.  They were cheap ($6.50 on ebay) but the red dollar tree xmas ornament plastic looks sh*ty.  I ordered some black ones that will look alot better but i might go with some the same as the black i ordered but they're chrome coloured plastic.
