FJ...I like the side panels in black (wouldn't have thought so, till I saw them). I was also visualizing that rear fender in black...it would almost disappear under the red seat, and maybe add a little more vintage profile. Anyone have any thoughts?

Interesting Idea...photoshoped it for you on FJ bike.

If the weld seam is really a bother, with a strip of masking or painters tape to protect the red paint where the fillet radius starts, it could be painted flat black.

One day?!?  I hope that 700km was round-trip!
Yep, a round trip  ;D. I'm not tough enough to do 1400 in a day, for sure.
I recorded my worst ever fuel consumption on one leg of this trip: 200km at 70-75mph into a stiff headwind returned 4.6 litres/100km, or 50mpg.

Have a great summer, FJ!

Hope FJ don't mind us modifying his machine!

Shot balls look pretty natural on there.

I like the shot balls, they seem to be doing something.

Any clue how to bend the end of the header couple of degrees up?

You need an adapter. Attempting to bend a chrome pipe will crack the chrome immediately.
There might be one available at CMW or Hitchcock for the trials bikes.

It's stainless. I want to avoid the adapter... maybe I weld something on the Megaphone.

If it is stainless, you can take it to a muffler shop and have them make a slight bend on it.
If it is very slight, it may not even make a distortion on the pipe shape.

Made some videos,  ;)

1. Shows the mod's done to the bike. Sorry about the music but the little camera's sound was very noisy and I had to put something in there.

2. Tried to capture 0-60...

3. Fast run on a straight...reaching some 88-89 mph.
