It won't start with the kickstarter... maybe I'm not holding my mouth right.. sure smells of fuel though.. any ideas you folks that have made this change ???
-
Scotty, hard starting can be low float level low, timing issues, or you need some Basil Haydon bourbon.
-
If you're smelling gas, it's probably flooded. Check to see if the plug is wet. If so, you probbly need to adjust the needle up a notch (or down. Shoot- I forget whichit is- less gas in the float bowl).
After you do that, but a new plug in. This gas kills plugs.

I believe down leans out the fuel mixture. Will.

yes; Will is correct. The best place to start is at 1.5 turns out with the air screw. Is gas flowing out the over flow tube? if so, the float needs adjusted. Which jets do you have in? Try again with fresh plug.
see float adjust paper below- Mike

so far the 1.5 adj helps make the idle smoother.. thanks for the forward.. had to put on stronger glasses to read it though.. ;)

Magnifying glasses should be sold with new jets, so you can see what the h%^& they have wrote on them. ;D. Will.
