I'm on my second C5 (traded the '09 on a '10).
Both had severe wobble over 55 mph when subjected to impulses like cross wind gust, bump in road, shake of bars, etc.
But only if I'm sitting all sloppy and loose.
If I grip the grips and squeeze the tank, no wobble. And I don't mean death grip and "contraceptive" leg squeeze, I just mean handshake grip, some knee pressure. Like how you SHOULD be attached to a little bike while going that fast.
I'm 5' 8". 195 lbs (kinda top heavy: powerlifter) and I carry my gear around in an ALICE pack giving me an even higher center of gravity which exacerbates wobble. If I ain't hanging on.
Suggest everyone do squats, benches, rows, chins, deadlifts, pushups, whatever for a few weeks. Then get back on, hang on and ride.
The preceding are the opinions of the author. Your (lack of) wobble may vary. Ride responsibly and remember to brush and floss regularly.

Mike

Just of curiosity - what prompted you to change from 2009 C5 to 2010 model ? Are there any differences ?

Here is an interesting link describing motorcycle chassis oscillation. Note that EVERY motorcycle has a resonant chassic frequency!

The '09 was getting kind of dirty. And getting up in miles. :)
The '09 and '10 are pretty much identical. To include the wobble.
'10: Welds and paint look better. Vibration a lot less. Engine Control Unit more deterministic.
My '09 was a very early U.S. model. Getting a '10 seemed like a good thing to do. I do like it a lot more, which is a blast 'cuz I loved the '09.

Here is the proper way to to recover from a gentle high speed wobble. Note that the rider gets up out of the saddle and moves his weight to the front to settle the oscillation, then he shifts his weight to the right side to settle the resulting weave. He then pops back into the saddle and motors off happily!

Like I said in my very first post on this forum, I sold a Harley Road King and bought the C5,
You ride on a Harley, you ride with a Royal Enfield.

People who sell stabilizers, CNC machined billet bling, and uber expensive suspension upgrades hate guys like you :D Then again, many people dump $2000 into suspension goodies before they've even set the static sag properly on the stock stuff. They usually don't set the sag right on the expensive stuff either but they swear it's better ::)

Last perfect sunday, connecting 2 great collection of curves with a stretch of highway, thumper on 60 mph, flapping Tshirt and jeans, one hand on the throttle, one on the hip, legs open for fresh air, glass of white wine on the tank :o relaxed and steady as a rock on a perfect sunny sunday...
...admittedly, on a G5 ;D ;D
