Bullet with the UCE engine / Re: B5 Burning oil like no tomorrow.

Thanks Guys for all the input.
Just got the bike back from the RE Agents who did quite a few things they deemed necessary (new chain, replaced air filter) and also found the Power Commander was causing issues which couldn't be tuned out on the dynotune. Disconnected that and advised the bike now runs sweetly on the factory ECU. But found nothing that relates to oil consumption - "take it for a ride and see how it goes"...

As it had been running very rich, both with the Power commander settings and the very dirty air filter, the exhaust was quite sooty but not oily per se.
I'll now take a decent ride ánd see if it still drinks oil though can't see why it still wouldn't. If so then I'll need to get the head taken off and look further.
cheers

RC3 with tripper connector

Apologies for the probably daft question - does the Classic have a tripper connector on the loom?

Wow! Looks very "Life of Pi"-ish. He's probably way ahead of the curve from most Floridians.

Got MY new ride yesterday, a Kubota 900cc Diesel BX22 backhoe/Loader, circa 2002ish. Watch out world... ;D

Note: watch for dry rot in 22 year old tyres.... :o ;D

Not sure if they fit the interceptor.

In case others might be interested. 2m Abus (Cobra 10/200) cable fits reasonably snugly - especially with the touring seat. I joined the cable loops at the top - with a small Abus Marine padlock  - then slid it around so the padlock is underneath the cover. Pic below.

I know a pair of bolt croppers will get through in no time, but it's a reasonable deterrent for a cover I think. Handy to keep it in place in high winds too!

411 & 450 Himalayan & Scram / Re: New 450 Himalayan or 411
« Last Post by Navy Boy on Today at 07:23:47 pm »
I bought my 411 new in Jan this year and my Interceptor (Secondhand, it's a 2021 model) in Mar. It is my intention to have a test ride on the 450 towards the end of this year once the initial fuss had died down a bit. I did this knowing that the 450 was just around the corner but my thinking is that I can always look to change to a newer bike next year once they are out and about here in New Zealand.

Like many on here I suspect I shall be curious to see if the extra power of the 450 makes it the ideal companion for longer distance adventure rides. All the while I want it to keep the playful nature of the 411, along with the manageable physical dimensions.

Like others have said it depends on what you'll use it for. Only you know the answer to that one.

Bullet with the UCE engine / Re: brake pistons dechromed

Which brake system do you have?
My bike runs with the Pricol setup but my spare calliper is an endurance brand.
The endurance seems to be a better quality product and the pistons are anodised alloy as opposed to chromed steel on the Pricol.
