So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

Thanks Guys really loved the exhaust note of the Int650 waiting for the S&S exhaust to feel the real exhaust note as stock exhaust are bulky but have to wait for 6 more months when they be available through RE dealers...

Now my query is regarding the exhaust change the stock exhaust to some fancy exhaust or should I stick.with the stock exhausts  supplies exhaust from Royal Enfield is 5kg each so total.weight is 10kgs that's a lot of weight

Since changing over to this new forum, the "attach" option has not worked. :(   I go to postimage.org and am able to post images that way. It's a really easy one to use.

Looking forward to seeing your pictures! :)

Is that larger crash gaurd also from RE or an aftermarket one?  There is no option list available yet in the USA so it would be very interesting to know what you have seen.

Too bad the sari guard is so minimalistic.  :P.  I liked the C5 one so much I had a guy in Dheli get me one and ship it over. It has a lot of shape and cool lines. I'm still trying to decide if I want the Interceptor one...  ???

One more accessorie is touring mirror for Interceptor650 they look good in terms of shape but one friend of mine is using them and he didn't liked the angle of the mirrors according to him it's just a cosmetic change and enhance the looks of the bike but in practicality they are not good

Wow Roshiba777, cool stuff! I like the gaiters, do forks have to come off to install them?  I'm probably going with bar ends for mirrors, so I'd pass on those, but they do look nice. The silencers look great! What brand are they? do you know the inside diameter of the silencer or outside diameter of pipe? Do you have a link to their site? Maybe when you're done you could make a video with awesome 270 degree crank sound?  8) We will at least be needing more pictures! Lol! ;)

Yes Narada for fitting the fork gaitors both the front shocks have to be removed for fitting fork gaitors have a video clip of the exhaust with db killers they look and sound great and reduce the weight of stock exhausts by almost 6 kgs as the exhausts which I ordered are just 3.9 kgs compared to 10 kg of stock ones

Looking forward to seeing some pics of the crash guard. I'm also thinking of ditching the orginial silecers in favour of something with less weight. Not sure what impact that will have on the 3 year warranty though? My preference would be a 2 into 1 in stainless.

So finally today after a lot of fight with myself and my mind I purchased the touring mirrors for my interceptor 650 as stock mirrors are same as classic 500 mirrors and are much higher but in the touring mirrors we can adjust the height of the mirror and mirrors can be fitted much lower than stock mirrors loved the look on my bike

Nice mirrors Roshiba777, Thanks for the pics. I'm holding out for bar ends, but I like the adjustability and logo on yours!
Those bobbins look cool...do they serve a purpose otherwise? The CGT Twin at my dealer has them too. You mentioned the centerstand in reference to them. Do they have something to do with that?

The bobbins are used when lifting the rear of the bike with a track stand. The stand will have a set of vertical facing hooks that will connect to the bobbins, which makes it less likely for the stand to slip off when raising the bike, compared with a universal stand attachment that slips under the swingarm to lift the bike.

Today installed the swingarm bobbins they look great on interceptor it's more of aesthetic look as its having centre stand.

While in GT650 there is only side stand fitted and no centre stand so swingarm bobbins are mainly for GT650 so while doing servicing or any maintenance work paddock stand can  be fitted

But RE has also option  of fitting center stand on GT650 but only available as accessory

If you decide to keep riding it I would at the very least change the oil.

It may have a very low first gear with its six speed transmission.

Hello everyone

Facing a problem it seems the pickup in 1st gear is less bike didnt accelerate that much but in 2nd and 3rd gear it pulls great is this a problem  or it's normal in 650cc bike

That is typical in some of the most powerful Japanese motorcycles. Apparently the manufacturers (or their lawyers) are worried about riders spinning their rear wheels and loosing control when using full throttle in first gear. To address this potential issue their FI computers cut power when the bikes are in the lower gears. However, the European manufacturers don't seem to offer such a "feature" as they use traction control systems to keep things from getting out of control when the throttle is whacked open in low gear.

Or they might be cutting power to comply with some sort of noise regulation.  ???

In any case, I am having trouble imagining that Royal Enfield would be worried about putting too much power to the ground in first gear or making excessive noise.  However, it is possible that the company that they used to design their fuel injection system was using a standard Japanese program that automatically cut power in first gear - just because.  ::)

Or it could be that there is actually some sort of issue with your particular bike.  You will have to ask other owners of the 650 and see if they are having a similar experience.

Maybe you could test ride another new Interceptor and compare?  ::)

Is there any effect of installing the free flow muffler in place of stock exhausts as u have replaced the stock mufflers with AEW exhausts with removable baffel it didn't sound too loud with baffels it's something little louder than stock Rumble and exhaust note is very sweet but when  I remove the baffels it's a complete different exhaust note.

As I have installed these exhausts does the ECU alter the fueling or it remains the same please suggest any pros and cons of installing the free flow exhaust

I don't know specifically about the Interceptor, but in general, the latest ECU's have some flexibility to their programs to accommodate changes in the environment and equipment as the mileage piles up on the bike. Since the fuel richness is altered by the lambda sensor, air temperature, the engine temperature, the air pressure and maybe one or two other things, it is likely that some minor changes to the engine breathing might not result in a lean running condition. Of course there are several systems that will allow you to (illegally) alter the computer programming, but there are also relatively cheap devices that just insert a resistor into the wiring between the air temperature probe and the ECU, causing it to believe that the air temperature is colder than it really is, resulting in the computer enriching the mixture throughout the entire power curve, which may help when installing a freer-flowing air cleaner or muffler.

One such device is the Booster Plug.  I installed one on my 2009 BMW F650GS and it seemed to help smooth out its lean surges through the power band.  Attached are a couple of photos of the gadget installed on that bike.  I think the price was around $100 USD, so there are likely less expensive versions on the market, but it was very well designed and only took a few minutes to install.

On  a bullet, the main side effect of free flow mufflers is a tendency to backfire, particularly when decelerating.  No idea if the interceptor will have similar issues.

Chances are great that the mufflers caused a lean condition. Remedy is not known to me at this time.

Today changed my bikes oil and oil filter the quantity of oil used in refill is 3.1 liters and grade is 10W-50 liquid gun marketed by Royal Enfield thinking of changing the oil to Motul 300 V at next service which will be done at 10000 kms should I stick with Royal Enfields Liquid Gun oil or shift to Motul 300 V fully synthetic oil

Motul and Liquid Gun, at least your Indian formulations, are rare here in America. Those brands are rarely seen on the retail shelves here, and are generally sort of a special order or "connoisseur's item". Frankly, more important is that you use the SAE and JASO grade designated in the Owner's Manual, whatever the brand. At this point, still breaking in your bike, a quality non-synthetic or semi-synthetic might be best. You WANT a little bit of wear so that everything "seats in" pleasantly. If you want to keep that bike as long as I've held onto mine, nearly 30 years for the '67 Norton and over 40 for my '57 Zuendapp Bella scooter, both of which were my "daily drivers" of yore and still running fine, then I truly believe you might do well to add an "extra" oil change and new filter at about 5,000 kilometers, even of you have to pay for or do it yourself. It will flush out those inevitable break-in cruds before they can do any longterm harm. Just because Enfield wants to please some faraway unelected Council of Euro Environmental Gnomes with an over-extended oil change regimen doesn't mean it's good for your bike. If it were mine, I'd slap on a couple of those little neodynium magnets onto the drain plugs to help grab any gritty iron bits floating by, and give her an extra flush BEFORE going "full synthetic" at 10,000 km. I understand you Indian fellows like to squeeze a Rupee until the wheel spins, and make Scotsmen look like drunken sailors on payday, but just do the extra oil change "for the children", OK?
So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

The oil used by RE dealer is Liquid Gun Fully Synthetic 10W-50 to API SL or JASO MA2 its manufactured by Total lubricants and marketed by Royal Enfield under name Liquid Gun.

Will change the oil and filter again at 5000 kms as I changed the engine oil in my classic 500 chrome every 2000 kms asked the dealer if semi synthetic  oil can be used dealer said it will void the warranty and have to stick with RE recommended Fully Synthetic oil only.

If full synthetic is what it needs for the warranty, then full synthetic it is. The most important thing is to keep that oil nice and fresh, especially the first year or so.

The fork gaitors give an added layer of dust protection.  When properly installed they keep the shafts of the front forks relatively dust free for less wear and tear on the seals.  I installed some on my Rumbler, but went with ones recommended by the mechanic - and he was wrong. They didn't last much at all do to grabbing on the shaft and low quality rubber.  Don't know if the Himalayan gaiters would work, but am considering ordering a pair as I like the looks of less shiny up front - plus the advantage of shielding from dust on our less than stellar roads here in Coffee Country.

Today crossed 1500 kms on my INT650 Bike is running great without any problems have placed order for sump guard (skid plate) but due to some reason RE didnt have stock of these at ware house when asked the reason they said all the sump guards manufactured are exported it's really bad that they can't supply the basic parts to home market and focused mainly on exports.

Any way already placed the order but dont know the time when I get it have to ask is it necessary to install sump guard on INTERCEPTOR 650 as its oil filter is in front of engine my riding is mostly on the highways

Today checked my Int650 tyres while washing the bike there are cuts on the tyres. There are 3-4 small cuts and one cut is larger in size on the rear tyre.. Shown it to dealer they have taken the pics of the tyre and forwarded these to the Area service Manager for further decision let's hope RE agrees to replace the tyre INT650 has done just 1700 kms

I've gotta agree with Gizzo. This is a tough warranty decision.

If I was the warranty "decider", I don't think I could approve 100% replacement (parts and labor) by pragmatism. The PR guy might approve it.

That looks more like a split or crack than a cut to me also. Several such splits, especially on the sidewalls, would indicate compound separation, poor storage or maybe extreme over- or under-inflation--not road debris damage, unless you're in the habit of tear-assing through the scrap piles of lightbulb or razor blade factories.

If they're Pirellis, as a Google search will soon indicate, it wouldn't be the first time "separation cracks" appeared in their products.

Good luck with pressing your warranty claim, Bro!

Today changed the engine oil of my INT 650 but didnt changed the oil filter at 5200 kms the quality of oil that I drained from my bike is really good for another thousand Kms quality of engine oil used in interceptor 650 is really good the other oil by Royal Enfield Liquid Gun which I use in my classic 500 chrome its quality is not that good have to change it after 1500-2000 kms as its mineral oil.

The quality of Synthetic oil used in Interceptor/GT650 is great good to see such quality oil by Royal enfield to be used in Interceptor/Gt650

There's nothing normal about holes in exhaust pipes. Or are you talking about small holes in the underside of some mufflers to let condensation out? Or was that just in the "olden times"?

PS: I should just say here that I've never bought a NEW muffler in my whole life except for cars and they were ALways aftermarket.

It was common for 1970's Honda motorcycle mufflers to have small holes at low points of the muffler or exhaust pipes to allow condensation to drain after the exhaust system cooled off.  The drain holes kind of helped to keep the mufflers from rusting out a little longer than otherwise.  However, I can't recall ever noticing exhaust fumes coming out of the holes.  ???  So my guess is that "they all do that sir".   ::)

I don't know a thing about your 650's exhaust but a lot of exhaust systems have a small hole in the bottom of them somewhere.
It is supposed to let any accumulated condensation of water blow out of the exhaust when you start it up.

Water is one of the byproducts of burning gasoline.

Its not blowing condensed water but exhaust gases are coming from that hole

Today shown my bike to RE dealer after checking the RE engineer told me it's normal to have exhaust gases coming out of the hole in the exhaust pipe even after checking the brand new bike its having same thing

So like we've said before it must be a condensate hole. It's at a low point in the system, right? (your picture's not clear WHERE the hole is located). And of course there's exhaust coming out - it's a hole  :) If any water forms in there, it'll blow out.

These 2 holes are beneath the cat converter that is situated in the exhaust pipe will take another picture and share according to RE person it's there for scavenging the gases through O2 sensor I asked him if it's normal how come only right side exhaust pipe have this exhaust gases coming from the holes while on the left side exhaust pipe there is nothing like that and all the gases leave through muffler..

That may have something to do with the way the baffling in the mufflers was assembled at the factory. Perhaps the baffling in one of the mufflers is different than the other and is blocking the exhaust from blowing out of the drain hole?  One thing to check is if both muffler exhausts feel exactly the same when you place your hands over the end. If one exhaust feels different than the other then there could be a defect in one of your mufflers.  ???

I just looked at mine. I have three holes. I didn't run it so I don't know if any exhaust blows out. I wouldn't be surprised if some exhaust is supposed to blow out as that would expedite the removal of moisture. Remember, these are double walled pipes. The outer pipe is purely cosmetic. Also, I don't think the bulge is part of the cat. The mufflers have the corrugated mess of catalyst inside them. That's why they weigh ten pounds each!

Ok today I checked another Interceptor 650  but that bike didn't blow exhaust gases through the holes in the bottom of exhaust pipe may be mine bikes RH exhaust pipe has a defect and should be changed in warranty.

Also want to know if I keep it riding the bike like this does it harm the engine or bikes performance

The exhaust on my Int650 2019 has 3 holes. I did run it and my bike does not blow the exhaust gases out.

another possibility is that the holes are for venting during the welding process and, or to run a shielding gas, holes for draining after exiting the plating tanks even
