Title: Sad day my Enfield Adventure is ending
Post by: draggin on December 05, 2018, 01:00:22 am
It is definitely the most trouble-free and the most fun bike that I have ever owned. But since 2011 I have only put 1100 miles on it, and unfortunately it's time to make room in the garage for a new toy. If anybody knows somebody who's looking for a perfectly maintained flawless bike, have them take a look at mine. I am in the Detroit Michigan area.

What country are you in?
It's sad to see another forum member leave.

<edit>
I just saw your location on the member page. Bummer we couldn't get out for a ride together,  I'm just an hour away on the other side of the Ambassador Bridge.
Have you thought of trying to get Detroit Iron to sell it for you?  Great dealership btw...

Actually Detroit Iron is where I purchased it originally! This is the first new Enfield that they sold when they moved to Waterford.
I had not thought about them taking it on consignment, I was hoping that maybe I would find somebody on here who was thinking about buying one and would like to get a well-maintained one for a little cheaper than a new one.

Looks like a modern Morgan 30 - great fun vehicle, even considered selling my Lotus Esprit to buy, but building a Guzzi engined J.Z.R instead & having a ball building it.

That's a pretty scoot! And I've just gotta believe it was fettled and broken in properly, hence truly "better than new". That's quite a stable of desirables you've got there. That "Das Bike" is particularly interesting. An R69 checks all my boxes, but one with a meatier motor? Where do I sign up?

Draggin, Steve and his staff are good people, not the optimal time of the year to sell though. If you do see the guys at Detroit Iron tell them Robert says Hi.

And yes the r69s with a thousand cc engine was probably the fastest motorcycle I've ever been on. That may have been part of the problem I think I have more fun driving a slow motorcycle fast than I do riding a fast motorcycle slow
