I've started to see pictures and videos cropping up on the net of GTs with the new RE logo on the tank, and can only say I'm so thankful that I got in quick and got the original release. I really don't like this new version

I've gotta agree with you.  I have the "original" script on my fuel tank, and it is much more elegant to my eyes.  The new script/logo...I'm just not feelin' it!! :-\

I'm also glad I got in on the original logo.  The new one looks to me like a '70's mod style.  Something I imagine Austin Powers would find groovy.

2004 Vespa GT200
1980 Honda CB400 Hawk

I kind of like the new logo myself.  The old one struck me as being a little too large.

I do think the new logo would look better if it were not on the tank, but maybe a little smaller and on the airbox covers though.

Old logo looks like it belongs to the bike. The new one looks like a failed try to make an old bike look young.

I think the new font would look better if it weren't stacked up like it is now...

It looks like '70's script to me as well.  I like mine better as well.

I agree, can't understand the concept of a new logo unless they were planning on changing the whole product line and wanted a 'new' image.....
but then again, there are a bunch of old Enfields running around India with cast aluminum wheels and big tractor-style tire on them, and I don't get that either

Upon closer inspection of the picture posted above, I am less offended by the new logo than I am by the new bicycle-style reflectors on the forks and frame tailpiece.

I don't know about the CGT but when I picked up my G5 Deluxe, the dealer gave me a bag of those stick on reflectors.  They had come with the motorcycle and I'm sure their inclusion was to pacify a DOT safety requirement.

Although the State I live in doesn't require side reflectors I installed a few in areas which are difficult to see if your standing near the bike but will be easily seen by any cage driver coming at me from the side at night.

It grows on you. However every time I look at the R is see an elephants trunk. I am assured that it was not intentional.
