Title: Modifications
Post by: Leonard on June 17, 2008, 01:51:23 pm
I have been enjoying oldsalt's modifications to his bullet and thought this trials blog, http://www.blackcatvintagetrials.com/, would be of interest to some folks.  It shows just how far one can go in specialization.  Just poke around a bit to find the stories on the REs.

Thanks Leonard.   Neat stuff.  Always wished I could ride well.

When I bought the bike it was my intension to [sort of] make a Cafe Racer out of it.  I now know a lot of parts can be purchased, such as a tank and rearsets and etc., but I am cheap and have a lot of time to play so the idea is to make the required parts in my shop.   Sat and looked at the old girl today.  Decided that a front wheel brake air scoop would be fun to make.  But that has the drawback of disabeling the maching untill it is finished.  The weather is too good to do that right now.

I have been enjoying all of Oldsalts postings. Seems he is one for the wise opinion.

I jus tried to look at the site and have to wonder what's there.

My companies internet filter blocked it as a 'sex' site.

The sexiest thing I saw was a Bultaco trials bike.

In this day and age, and at 22 hp, wouldn't it qualify as a Decaffeinated Racer?

Maybe that's why I'm abnormally concerned with a machine that sounds bad and looks bad. My bottom line for doing cosmetic modifications. Maybe a Baskins and Robbins Racer or something of the sort.    We used to have a saying for that sort of thing in the 50s.  "If it won't go chrome it".  If I wanted more HP out of the old girl It could be done.  Just takes money.
