Title: 100 link chain on a C5?....what do you think
Post by: wildbill on December 31, 2012, 02:14:43 pm
i know the correct chain for the C5 has 101 links with the snail as the adjusters.
do you think i could fit a 100 link  chain using the nfield adjusters which appear to give you more adjustment.
reason behind this -the local guy has 100 and 102 link chains in stock but no 101's. asked could he drop back a 102 to 101 and he said didn't have the time.
thoughts on the above please

i thought the c5 took 102 links.
i changed mine right after i got the bike.
i would not get the 100.
when i got mine i got a 110 and cut it down, that was all they had in the store.

I think you might be able to get by with a 100, but it could end up being a bit too tight under full compression of the rear suspension. The smarter option would be the 102 and a T19 front sprocket.

The C5 dosen't use a half link like the G5. so it can't be 101. I'm fairly sure it's 102. The G5 is 101.
