Good Afternoon All,
Well we have finally finished the 1956 Super Meteor project. We wanted to thank you for all of your help and support. I have not been on the forum since March, but we have finally completed the job. We initially thought then problem was the ignition system, but in the final analysis it was valve spring binding that was causing all of the grief. We first thought that the bike was a constellation and ordered all new valve gear, but when we found out that it was a Super Meteor, we neglected to check back to see if valve springs and keepers were the same for both models. Well they are not. Thus the problem. We finally installed the correct valve gear and used a distributor. The bike will now start on the first or second kick Anyway thanks for the help and here are a couple of pictures of the end product. Cheers,
Roger

Hi Scottie,
The tank was one that was on the bike when we got it. I think it is an original Super Meteor tank, but it was definiterly one that was used on the Constellation.
Cheers,

Seasons Greetings Roger
Very nice looking bike. Yes that is a Constellation fuel tank identical to what was on my Conny which I owned about 35 years ago.
Where are you located? Most all USA bikes from that era were badged as Indians not Enfields.

Hi Don,
I am in Nova Scotia, Canada. Apparently this bike was shipped to Newfoundland in 1956 as a part of a royal escort for a visit by the Queen in that year.
Cheers,
Roger
