With the kickstand down on a 2014 should the bike start?
It in my case does not and I’m wondering if the sensor is bad
-
Should! Assuming neutral switch is ok. Try pulling in clutch and see if it will start. Had opposite problem with my 14 gt - putting side stand down when in gear running and wouldn't stop! Side stand switches are known problem.

Seems everything is working in order
I’ll unplug the sensor and I think it should work then
-
Fixed it
Removed the switch. Now it will idle in neutral on the stand
-
Same. I found it really irritating that it wouldnt run on the side stand. PITA when I'm opening the gate. I ditched that switch soonest. I wouldn't mind if it cut out stand down in gear but not the way it was.

Mine will start in neutral but not in gear the neutral light needs to be displayed in dash this is normal.
-
Mine still cranked with side stand down. Almost killed battery back in early days!

Wouldn't start though, right?

Correct! Never could find the plug buried behind down tube. Cut wires near relay.
