One of my favorite actors who did plenty in promoting the sport of motorcycling. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIEyUqLbbJI&feature=related
And some fun riding with Steve and friends from pt. 9 of the movie, "On Any Sunday."

I just had to provide at least one response to this thread. When I was a kid in the 1960s & 70s, "Steve Machine" was DA MAN!! We all read about him, and watched his films (believe it or not, just this past weekend I watched "The Great Escape" for probably the twentieth time). And "On Any Sunday" was another great McQueen film. I think he deserves much respect for what he did to interest kids in motorsports, especially dirt bike riding. In fact, my new avatar looks like a McQueen Machine! I could see him (or me) out somewhere tearing up the desert on it.

I blame that movie for my sick habit, now I ride a Bullet. ;)

Well I can't blame Steve Mc or "On Any Sunday" since I'd been riding dirt for about 8 years when the movie hit the screen, but it sure furthered my enthusiasm. Except for trying to coast my trials bike backward down a hill. It always hurt afterwards. :'(

If you have a bundle of cash burnin' a hole in your pocket you could get yourself a brand new Metisse Steve McQueen signature desert racer. www.metisse-motorcycles.com/stevemcqueen.htm

Thanks for the great clip,Blltrdr.Every accolade written/spoken of him was absolutely
correct....period. IMO,he experienced(and deserved) a truly great life at the best possible period in motorcycling specifically and motor sports in general.......
What has followed since that 'golden period' doesn't even come close,IMO. Sad...

Reminded me of a TV ad in Australia years ago for Shell, where a Steve McQueen lookalike was used. Very effective
