Title: Old Twin oil filter change

Hi guys,have just changed the oil,it's a '51   Twin with the 6 inch filter inside the oil tank.The felt has a hole in it so shot.what do you guys use as a replacement as this stuff is no longer available.Any ideas?Coinz

I think you could use one out of a Bullet which is 4" long with a longer spring to keep it in place.  ERC

thanks,i don't think that is possible,I've decided to buy some suitable material and make up one myself.

My apologies ERC,you got it right.I've just bought a 3" spring and new cap and will fit a Bullet filter.I was confused as i didn't realize there was a filter cap (or supposed to be)and a short spring down the far end. My bike was missing that cap so supposedly oil was simply bypassing the filter.
