If they really want ONE ride, all over the world, they're gonna have to reschedule... to a time when fewer of us still have snow on the roads!

Tried to put in a ride for Dallas and I kept getting this:
Something is technically wrong.
We're going to fix it up and have things back normal soon.

Well, I didn't see any other Royal Enfields today, but I participated in the 'One Ride' and thumped around Tucson.  Made a loop around downtown then up to River Rd.

I like the way the bike is progressing, the new mirrors and exhaust, its getting closer and closer to the way I want it.

The video looks decent, I used a new camera and harness so regrettably I didn't get much of the bike in the frame, I'll work on that for the next one.

Looks like a good ride.  Traffic was light.  Weather was perfect.  What more could you want? :)

Looks like it is about time for you to take another ride thru the desert loop and make a video like you posted before.  The Palo Verde, Mesquite and other desert plants are blooming.

While your riding, you might want to think about using the clutch a bit less.  Several times it sounded like you clutched in without shifting while you were approaching a stop light.
I mention this because the old non UCE clutches don't have a real bearing in the clutch release mechanism.  (The UCE uses a ball type thrust bearing).

They use a rod with a spherical end on it that pushes against a rod with a flat surface.

In theory the point of contact will be close to 0 feet/second velocity but with a slight amount of wear on the contact point it can generate a lot of heat.  Kinda like an inertia welder thing with the two parts wanting to weld themselves together. :o
It's one saving grace is there is a little oil in the area to try to lubricate the sliding surfaces.
That's also the reason you don't want to sit at a stop holding the clutch in until the light changes.

Thanks again for the video.

I saw no announcement for the Philadelphia area, so I made my own One Ride to some famous spots around the City.

I was surprised that neither of the two dealers in the area (including one downtown) didn't publicize the event. I guess there just aren't enough Enfields around yet to make it an "event." Maybe next year!

Thanks Jim!  I do plan on another ride in the Saguaro National Monument :-)

As far as downshifting, in the places where you didn't hear the downshifting I was using the neutral finder.  Whenever I'm approaching a long stop and nobody is behind me, I'll click the neutral finder and let out on the clutch.  I did it allot in the National Monument video too, only because of the camera angle you could see my hands better and/or the neutral light on.

Neutral finder, FTW!  8)

I forgot all about the neutral finder.  That's something they should have kept in the newer motorcycles but they didn't.

+1000 on the neutral finder!

You Indian Model owners have NO idea what you're missing.  It is the best feature of a sub-par transmission.  EVER.  :D

Thanks Mike!  It is a stock take off from a Harley Davidson Dyna.  The entire exhaust was given to me by a Harley buddy since he went with aftermarket stuff.  I punched a few holes in the single wall baffle which has given me good flow, great sound, and a tighter look.

Did not know it was "One Ride Day" but about ten of us Gizzistis did about a 250 miler out to the Rock Inn in Lake Hughes, CA. A great ride with great weather and great twisties.
Did not see any Enfields anywhere.
