Well Hitchcocks, you managed to drop the ball again. Started putting the bike back together after waiting 2 weeks for a stupid $5 crank seal, and low and behold the rotor they sent me doesn't seem to be correct. In fact I can't even see a way to possibly bolt it up. Am I missing something or did Hitchcocks send me the wrong part?

FYI The new rotor still has the protector plates stuck to it, it is actually about a 1/4" smaller diameter than the original. The adapter bracket and alternator part #47205 seem to fit just fine, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to mount the new rotor. Do I need to press out the hubs or something?

If I remember correctly push the piece out of the old stator stick it in the end of the crank put the key in it and push the rotor on. Then use the bolt and washer to lock the rotor on. ERC

The other problem is that the shoulder nut for the rotor doesn't even fit inside of the new rotor.

By the looks of the rotors it doesn't look like the rotor adaptor will fit in the new rotor. Does it? Ok after looking at all my junk you need a stud the adaptor piece,lockwaser and the right nut. I've got all four. But before you do anything check to see if the nut you have threads on the stud. If the stud is 3/8" then just have somebody cut the outside of the sleeve on the nut to fit inside your new rotor. ERC

So I just need the"3/8" Stud Adaptor" that Hitchcocks forgot to tell me I need and just grind down the shoulder on my nut and I should be good? The rotor stud that's on the bike is definitely the 3/8" stud.

Actually the adaptor that's in your old rotor should fit. I've got one of those old rotors and the inner part where the adaptor fits is smaller than outside part where the nut goes. ERC

I guess I'm confused by what exactly you mean. When I looked at Hitchcocks I saw item #18 as being listed as a "Rotor Sleeve, for 3/8" stud". Is this the missing piece? Or can I integrate the the 2 hubs between the 2 rotors? I hate to tear the new rotor apart only to find it won't work. Thanks ERC.... As always. ;)

That #18 should be the piece that's in your old rotor. If you knock that out it should fit in your new rotor. There should be a key on the part that's on the end that's in the old rotor. The nut you have that won't fit in the new rotor hole you should just be able to turn down the outside diameter of it to fit the new rotor. Just measure the length of the nut to make sure when you tighten the nut it doesn't #18 when the nut is tightened. ERC

I think you forgot a word or 2 in that last sentence. Do you mean to make sure the nut doesn't bottom out before it tightens the rotor correctly?
