Hi All,

Currently looking at some universal soft panniers for my interceptor, however need to source some pannier frames/rails to support them. Can't seem to find anything apart from ones from India on Ebay.

Anyone have any experience with those or can point me towards some good quality ones?

Take a look at the Hitchcock's site.

Hitchcock's has a set of bags and bars that they sell together or separately. I have the RE rear luggage rack. It holds the bags out without the need for separate mounts but only because the bags are pretty stiff for soft bags. Bags were $60 on Amazon. In any case you need tapered bags because of the upswept pipes.

Hi Ol Hog, I just noticed another thing on your bike: the headlight bracket. Is that the Tecbikeparts bracket? Looks nice.

I think it's an optical illusion created by the flyscreen mount and a little British flag sticker.

I am sure they make a right side as well. I have their bags on my Classic and they are superbly made and well worth the price. Their customer service is good too, so if you send them a note they will tell you the right side PN.

For those interested in a possible $15 solution for occasional touring or light shopping, I thought I should mention that those sturdy Stansport Canvas Saddle Bags measure about 35 inches (89 cm) from bottom tip to bottom tip, in case anyone wants to check if they'll clear the pipes if slung over the pillion saddle. They have four grommets for attachment on the cross-strap as well as a pair of D-rings at the bottom of each bag.

I've got a pair of the olive green ones in keeping with my Bullet's whole "Military Thang", but they also come in black, as shown below.

My bike came with a pair of those metal ammo box looking panniers, but I use my Stansports too on longish camping tours, just sort of bungeeing them over my tent and sleeping bag on the rear rack, where they help hold down everything nice and firm. When not in use, they're handy for stowing my smaller camping gear. They're hard to beat for the money, and right now Stansport's offering free shipping with a minimum $50 purchase. It shouldn't be much of a challenge to make that nut if you're a gear junkie like me. If nothing else, everyone  can use another duffel bag, right?
So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

I like these but 6 liter capacity is pretty small - really not much more than cosmetic. A rain suit would fill the entire pannier.

Agreed, they do make the 10 liter option as well, but still that is small. The up pipes present a bit of a challenge. I am thinking of trading my V Strom Adventure, with the large aluminum boxes, for an Interceptor, and will have to deal with the baggage issue myself at that point. The V Strom holds a TON of stuff. I suppose the rear luggage rack and a large bag on the back will help a lot.

I bought a nice 30l Ogio tail bag, which is fantastic but obviously no good for two-up. Ogio makes companion saddlebags that collectively make a serious 3-piece kit that would hold weeks' worth of stuff. I'll probably end up with either that or the Givi hard panniers that Hitchcock has on the site. Those look solid. Each of the hard panniers is 20l and since they rest on a frame, they don't conflict with the pipes apparently. But they're not soft panniers, which is what the OP was asking about, I understand.
