Title: AGM battery-any suggestions?

It's time to replace the batt in the Scrambler,and because of the inclination of the battery,a lead/acid unit will have partially exposed plates(even if overfilled). Any recommendations (based upon experience)will be helpful......

Put BigCrank battery in ebay or google they have a whole line of them that will work. ERC

Motobatt or East Penn/Deka, in the appropriate size.

I advise accurately measuring the existing battery case before ordering a replacement battery.

I found that there are several different sized cases available and although they were rated at the same Amp Hour number, some of them were just 1/16" larger than the one I have.  If I accidentally bought one of those batteries I wouldn't be able to fit it into my bikes battery box, even with a big hammer!

There are also the right sized battery cases but they have the terminals reversed from what I need so be sure to check out what you are ordering first. :)

Interstate AGM in my Military since 2006 and it's still going strong.

So to thread-jack, Sam, what'd you coat your pipe with?  Looks like it withstood installation, assumedly with a hammer.

I use a West Coast AGM battery in my 2005 500 Classic ES. Worked out fine.

Went with one of those new lithiums, a Ballistic. Will see how it works out or if it was money wasted ::)

Good luck with your Lithium battery.
It will be interesting to see how it does.

There is an interesting link in Ducati Scotty's post to a site that is talking about Regulators and Rectifiers. 
A guy called Tweety goes thru quite a few posts explaining how they work.
I mention this because towards the end of his posts he talks about the various types of batteries and what kind of charging they like and dislike.  You might want to read it.
