Getting ready to replace the original battery on my 14 GT.  Its  been on a maintainer since day one but don't want to risk it further.   Does anyone have model number for a Motobatt battery that fits the GT?   Tried doing search but couldn't find one.   Tnx hp

Don't know if you're in the US. If you have an autozone near you, you can get a duralast battery for about 50 bucks if you have the core to exchange. I was personally looking for a smaller battery because it's so hard to fit this into the battery tray but it's the exact same size and specs as the factory battery so it definitely fits. I have it on the maintainer right now for the winter but it worked perfectly while I had it on the bike. Filling the battery up with the acid isn't hard, but make sure to have some distilled water on hand in case you need to top off the cells.

Sorry I can't give you the code number. I have an AVL and I'm sure the size is different. I replaced mine long ago with a much smaller battery.

What I Will suggest, however, is that you not get a lead/acid battery. Get a good AGM battery at least.

Someone will give you the correct class/size # for the CGT soon.

PS: Why can't you get the class numbers off your original battery?  ???

Thanks for the replies.  I finally checked and turns out that the battery in my 14gt is not an OEM 12v 14ah,  its an EXTREME AGM XTA14 HL BS  12V 12AH.   I seem to remember the salesman at FT Worth RE telling me that they replaced the OEM batteries when they set up the bikes.  Don't know if that's still their policy.  Anyway maybe the lower AH rating is why it doesn't seem to be holding up.

HPWaco, this is the Motobatt I put in back in Aug of 2014. The fit was good. Still going strong. I keep it on a battery tender.

I installed a Shorai when my stock battery went tits up.  A huge difference in weight that will stun you...nice if you want to lighten up your CGT.
Call Chaparral to get the best online discount.  1-800-841-2960.

A big discount on the Shorai battery charger, as well.

Chaparral didn't list it for the CGT so I looked on the Shorai link and matched the OEM battery number...then called Chaparral to order.
