It seems beholden on me to point out that I am in no way worthy of the epithet "Grand Gearhead" recently bestowed on me. The title is a result of sheer quantity of posts, many arising from ignorance and confusion in the ways of motorcycles. Quantity not quality has brought me to this undeserved title, and I can only aplogise to those venerable ones who have rightly earned the honour through knowledge and experience.
Nuff said....? ;)

Br. Will, let not your heart be troubled for the honour of your new title. I, for one, belong to the same club by getting in through the back door! We, in essence, are knights with horses (our Bullets) but without armour or arms! :D
-
You are a gentleman sir. I shall take my place at the table with pride. ;) :D
-
I snuck in the same way, Wear the title with pride!
-
Thou shalt wear your crowns of gears with pride!
-
At least SOME os us deserve our titles. ;D

Much like your sprag clutch, there is no guarantee that the gears are turning. We still love you anyway ;)

Can only agree with all the sentiments already expressed. Great to have you around here and wear the badge with pride. :)

Looks like I'm going to get away with it..... :D ;)
Many thanks for these kind and reassuring words. The priviledge is all mine of course, and please accept my gratitude in spadefuls for all your many contributions to my motorbike education over the past few months.
What a great place this is, nowhere quite like it anywhere on the WWW.

WillW:
What ignorance are you talking about ? You want me to open up the box of ignorance in my head ! It is like Black hole, even the rays of light cannot escape it ;). The fact is you have contributed so much by writing helpful posts, asking questions that most of us may not know the answer to and keep working at it, is worthy of the TITLE, GRAND GEARHEAD - sans sprag ;D

don't need sprag, it only jams things up.

Ha Ha , sans sprag , and sans bike for a while too, and just as I got my Magnum super horns fitted. Darn, grrr :(

Did you post any pictures of horn and its wiring in the other thread ? Sorry to hear about sprag - is it really broke or still under investigation ?
-
I haven't yet updated the other thread Singh. I was trying to get a decent photo of the horns on the bike, but it's been dull and rainy and a flash photo doesn't show them too well. I mounted them either side of the pulse air valve on the front frame, using the existing bolts. Ideal location.
Yes I think the sprag has had it. I'm hoping they'll be along to pick up the bike tomorrow. I'm expecting to be without it for a week or so.
I'll update the horn thread later.
