Title: Hard Panniers
Post by: addict1 on November 16, 2018, 06:57:02 pm
Ok, so i finally finished my panniers and am super chuffed with the end result! I decided to have canvas covers made instead of spraying or vinyl and am happy with the result.

Here's a link to my original thread with the process...

The boxes hold roughly 25L, are lockable and have a quick removal/fitment system. I tested them on a quick two day (1000 Km) ride and they operated perfectly (stayed closed and in place).

Battling to post pics so here's a link.

Not sure why, but keeps timing out attachments; created a link to the folder for anyone interested...

I those are the best-looking panniers I've ever seen on a military RE - nice work!

Thanks guys, they really did work out better than expected and remain useful and practical too. Looking forward to taking them on a longer trip! I have plans to add a nice rugged custom canvass bag to the rack in the center, should complete the travel pack nicely (oh, and a fly rod mount somewhere)...

Very suitable.

So does the pink wheeled rim in the background belong to a flying flea ?
