So my GT is now 1600miles old and jumped on it to go to a fire shout last week and the front brake was seized fast. Just buried the front end into the forks and didn't move. Had to have it stripped and cleaned. Seemed odd for a new bike that I ride everyday.

Just wondered has anyone experienced this before.

Seemed today to be going bad again.

The lever was completely without pressure with no feeling at all.

There's a recall on them in UK and Europe.

Looks like your problem has been identified. Good there was no accident. But can you tell some of us what a fire shout is?

Glad you’re okay and there was no accident. Is the recall for 2020 Europe models only? I didn’t see a mention of the US. Just curious as I have a 2019 continental purchased in the states and this is the first I’ve heard about it.

It will be interesting to see when I/we in the UK are contacted.

I will report back when and if I am.

Doesn't actually sound though many people are having brake issues, but mine does feel right. Thanks @Sean7r for explaining that. need the bike to be realiable with my job its the best way to fight through the traffic to the fire station. Though roads are quieter at the moment obviously. i will keep you updated as I contact RE on the issue.

Maybe not related, but my 2010 C5 Bullet had that happen in Seattle.  The disc pistons weren't retracting and just locked into the disc.  I had to remove the caliper and do some kind of cleaning/lubing, IIRC.

Stu Fillingham just mentioned the brake issue. Reported that it's caused by road salt corroding the pistons and therefore creating sticking.

Should not be a problem in Australia then, tyres delaminating maybe.

Interesting, did you notice anything at all prior to that? Any sensation or sound that might have indicated the brakes were close to seizing?

Road salt not where I am seems very unlikely I am maticulus with cleaning aswell. There was no warning used the bike 8hrs before no issue then it happened no return flow on the pistons.
