Title: Hitchcock Headers & H-D O2 Sensors
Post by: Dacvulcan on April 08, 2021, 07:10:46 pm
The Hitchcock headers are turning gold and the $34 H-D O2 sensors were installed with no problem. I never could get the sensors out of the stock headers. The AEW TE102 mufflers released mid-range power the new headers released the top end.

Looks good! That case is so shiny it's almost transparent!

Beautiful and almost perfect... needs fork gaiters then you're done.

I have the gaitors but am too lazy to put them on. I did take a ride with the new headers and know I made the right choice. I retained the dual exhaust look, lost a lot of weight, and increased power.

power increase is noticeable, then.  Good.  Significantly or is it really subtle?   I do mine soon, I;m imagining I'll get near 50hp but that's probably wishful thinking

How do you like the sound?

Rumor has it that the gaiters can be installed from the bottom ans stretched over the calipers mount.

It’s true. For the OEM gaiters anyways. They stretch right over everything. Just have to take the wheel and caliper off.

The power increase is significant and the  sound is great with the baffles in. I will be taking a GoPro movie soon.

Did you polish the AEW TE102 mufflers or did you get them that way from AEW?

I did not do anything to the mufflers. Here is the pic that shows them.

In your earlier pic it looked like the AEW T102 mufflers were polished to match the chrome header pipes but in this big pic the mufflers are the brushed finish.

I emailed AEW and asked if they would polish a pair of 102s. They said they would but it would cost more and the finish didn't hold up as well as the brushed finish.

If I had known that Hitchcock was going to offer brushed finish headers I would have waited but I do like the "holding" on mine.
