Installed adjustable clutch/brake levers.

For some reason, shifting gears is so much smoother now :D

thought I'd give my B5 a run as she's laid up for winter at the moment, which with temps dropping to -6degC is not a bad thing! although I am still riding my NT700 and also the Gl1200/combi.
I found out that even though I am building strength in my repaired broken leg, I couldn't kick her over at all, which is something I like to do before starting to get the oil around the engine before a start, especially after a lay up. However after freeing the clutch she started almost instantly on the electric starter. I let the engine warm before a quick ride around the block. Still put a smile on my face,
 Bring on spring :-)

They tend to do that if you are a vintage rider.

Finally got some quality time with Bholenath (my C5).  :)

Working on Koso tach, and Marshall oil pressure gauge install. Hopefully I may be done by by this weekend.  I am really looking forward to getting out on the road!

Gassed her up for tomorrow's ride.  Up and over the Central Range of the Andes, across the Magdalena river valley and up the western side of the Eastern Range of the Andes to the hell hole known as Bogotá.  Other than the destination, tomorrow's ride should be pretty decent.

Reached the 300 mark on my new 500 Classic today. Immediately took it 50 MPH. Much funner than the 35-40 mph I was keeping her at for the first 300.

Took her off road a bit running on some Missouri River levees and dirt roads.

Took her home and did the first oil change. Let the bonding begin.

Went last saturday for a 400 km ride with japanese and Sporster. 30 km after start, at 65 mph I felt a sudden speed loss and a feeling of something braking the engine. Stopped for a quick look, everything seemed ok. 2 km later, the same. Back to the city with a tik tik noise on middle loads. I´m suspecting a piston seizure :(
Maybe I'll start a related thread.

Today was just another clean & maintain day due to the fookin' snow. I really got to get a Rokon Trail Breaker for days like this. ;)
Nothing better than a nice putt on an RE.

Ordered "English Exhaust Pipe" for the Madrass Missile from "H".

This pipe features a larger inside diameter than stock, port matched at head, and nice quality English chrome plating. Should improve flow at higher rpm. 8)

Weather here is just like in Fragmans picture. PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) is setting in! :(

I insured the new one, and took a longing glance at the other as she sits in the garage waiting for spring.

Rode to work today at 28 degrees and used our hosts luggage rack for the first time with a elastic net with hooks over a bag full of cold weather gear for the ride home in 60 degree sunshine.

Not today, but Friday I rode back from Bogotá to Coffee Country. One of my best trips on that route ever.  She definitely prefers to cruise in the 80-90 Kmh range.  She also hangs up at 4,500 rpm in fifth gear, just doesn't have the oomph to get to 5,000 rpm which limits her to 120 kmh indicated top speed, downhill with a tail wind at that.

Attached is a pic taken at "Alto de La Linea", the highest pass on this route.  It was a lovely winter day here between the Canal and the Equator.

From the look of that tour bag, I am surprised that the bike could even keep the front wheel on the ground not alone hit 61 MPH

Looked at it in an attempt to find quality workmanship in the right hand tank support but failed. What I did see however was something akin to this...  https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php/topic,24734.15.html

Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

;D

And you haven't seen ME yet...   :o

Still, loaded or unloaded, she won't go over 4,500 RPM in fifth gear.  Not that I NEED to hit those speeds, just found it interesting.  Must be something about the gearing vs HP output, but I'm not enough of a gear head to figure it out.
