Went for a ride, about 50 miles. It was pretty cold. Mid '40s. Again, I lost a nut off the header pipe to head joint. The engines sound changed suddenly. Fortunately I had another one, and a wrench. I have not yet found a solution to this problem. The area is way to hot for any kind of thread locker, it just melts. Still trying to find some kind of mechanical means to secure them. There are two things to secure. The nuts come loose on the studs, and the studs come loose in the heads. Maybe the only solution is to snug them up every couple hundred miles. I have ridden with Harley riders back in the early '90s who had to pull over every so often to tighten their engine mount bolts. Guess I have been spoiled by those "reliable" Japanese bikes.
