If it is just poor quality bulbs, switch to LED. They last forever and are very sturdy. Just be sure to get the brightest one you can find.

If it was a fuse I would agree on the idea of a short in the wiring but being a bulb, I just chalk their short lives up to the quality of Indian light bulbs + the vibration of a big single chugging merrily down the highway. :)

No, my bulbs last longer than 400 miles but I can't think of a bulb except for the ones in the speedometer that I haven't had to replace at least once.

Im using el cheapo Navara bulbs, might get some better quality ones.
Or maybe a 24v bulb..

Yeah but I hate the look of LEDs...

Hitchcock's sell replacement LED bulbs for the pilot lights, but they have a strong blue tinge and look quite out of place.  I can't recommend them and this morning will be fitting the old bulbs back in.

However, you CAN get LEDs of a good colour for domestic use (warm white, 2700K) so the technology is definitely there.

The Super Bright LEDs have a better color and appearance than other LED replacements from what I am told.  I have a cheap 1157 LED for my taillight.  It works great, sure you can tell it's LEDs, but at least I know cagers can see it.

I'm not usually looking at my own butt so I'm sure it would be fine :)

I bought a pair of LED pilots off of flea-bay and found mine were too bright and white. I put the original type replacement bulbs back in mine too

Did the first oil change at 306 miles - Super easy and ending up taking right at 2 liters.  Sump screen didn't look as bad as others I've seen here.

I also found a use for a graduated cylinder- Uber effecient oil filter soaker - occasionally I think I might need medication.  :o

Here in Portland, we now refer to Vancouver as "Vansterdam".
