I have to say that I do enjoy the Connie tank with the knee recesses tho.  Maybe this could be the inspiration for the Cafe upgrades?   ???

It's custom black metal flake paint Craig.  No matter if I get a replacement tank or not, it will need to be repainted.  I have to say that I do enjoy the Connie tank with the knee recesses tho.  Maybe this could be the inspiration for the Cafe upgrades?   ???

finally got the 2000 re running. last year it would'nt start and i tried everything even changed carbs. finally this spring i checked the battery and found it very low on electrolite. i thought it was dead .,but i filled it up and lo and behold it took a charge and started. i guess the battery was too weak for the electronic ig last fall.  well it ran ,but back fired and stumbeled so i put on the old carb, and now it runs like a new bike

It has been said that 90% of all carb problems are actually electrical problems. And vice versa.  ;) Glad you got working right.

Ended up trapped by Ze Germans!
So...many...BMWs...Death by flat twins!
Turns out my morning coffee café was the local for the BMW owners club, I saw two or three when I pulled up next to them, come out with my coffee and there was about 60! Old ones, new ones, off road ones, road ones, a few motorcycle cops, everything!
Then I went on a 5 hour ride through the hills, didn't skip a beat and used about half a tank, I travelled around 200kms, twisties, overtaking big Harleys guys, being overtaken by monster sports bikes, good fun!

The Saddlebags came in very handy with sudden cold snaps during the day, a hoodie under the jacket is the best cold weather gear ;)

The proper term is boxer motor, but I'm sure you knew that.  ;)

And hoodies are always great to keep in the saddle bag or backpack for sure.  :)

I know your young so I'll give you quick history in these engines.  They are actually called a horizontally opposed engine/motor.  These style motors were dubbed "boxer" motors because the pistons go in and out horizontally like a boxers fists, hence the name boxer.  ;)

Scottie I am a mechanic haha! I know dem technical terms for dem funny looking engines, but boxers from boxers? Didn't know that!

Today Im giving the girl a quick tapper adjustment, ordering a better sealing system (Sick of my tappet cover leaking!)

Then shes getting a quick polish, and off to a show dubbed 'Rats, Tatts and Pinups!'
Big indoor car and bike show, complete with rockabilly bands, and a pinup girl contest!
Anyone in Melbourne, it's on 10-4 on Whiteman Street, Southbank.

And if you need a place to crash for the night, you can just slap it on and wander into a bank - score a free night in jail!!
