I'm just curious if anyone has seen any advertised. I know there have been a huge number of custom builds but I mean just bare aftermarket frames to build on like you see in the v-twin world.

It may not be your cuppa, but they'll appear eventually.

If I never saw a chopper again, it would be just fine.

You might need to buy a frame built for a triumph or xs650 chopper/bobber and make it fit. Those frame kits are out there. That'd be a cool build.

That may be a Custom, but it's no chopper. Not my cup of tea.

These seem to be popular, closer but no cigar. Lower bars and a lighter front end would be a good beginning.

That's more like it. Drag bars and a springer front end would look good. The engine suits the style.

A quick look on the google machine turns up plenty of frames and bolt on hardtails for Triumph, HD and Yamaha that you might be able to make work.

One of the things that attracted me to the Royal Enfield 650 was the short steering rake. I’m definitely not a fan of long raked out front ends.

RightOn tooseevee, I apologize from the bottom of my hard tail. I'm still struggling with adolescence.
Photos like that blue bike is a bit of a Rorschach Test.
As regards Arlen Ness: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arlen_Ness )
I've had the privilege to meet him and even spent some extended time with him at a Bay Area charity event. Really solid guy in every way. Heck, he even got a US patent for a motorcycle fuel injection system. If anyone is ever near the his museum in Dublin, California _ you should make the time to see it.
AS for my score on that Rorschach test ... I love motorcycles, all of them. From perfect antique bikes to the modern rat-bikes.

I think you know from what I've written here on the various forums since 2009 that that's more or less me, too. I just like all bikes; just some a little "less" so to speak.

I could sit & stare at a Ducati 916 for hours trading sides once in a while & have also had a warm spot for '50s & '60s Britbikes since the '50s. Also love ANYthing antique

I also love choppers (NOT OCC "choppers") some less than others & also rankle at the uinformed or just plain bigoted remarks about them that hit these forums weekly if not daily. AND assumptions about the guys who ride or rode them and/or build them.

I remember Arlen Nesses early days, but he really went far out to me. That is NOT to say anything about his building ability which you just can't argue with.

There are also garage built choppers being built out there in every state in the country (and around the world) that are as reliable and safe as a cement block & they're running back & forth across this country to the tune of hundreds of thousands of miles a year.

+1        if it's got 2 wheels and an engine....yeah!

Some less than others, yes that's very true too. I come from a CB750 background, some of those choppers are very nice, others less my taste and more someone else's.

I think a heavily breathed on RE twin would make a wonderful power plant for a chopper, it's smooth and torquey, and with mods can be a terror. I would need a rear suspension personally.

I neglected to finish the end of that sentence. It should read ...but I would never want to own one or ride one. I would drop it before I got out of my own driveway.

I consider choppers ‘art’.
Yes they drive but I would never drive one on the road. Worst possible thing you could do to the handling of a motorcycle.

The Captain America bike was just terrible, Peter Fonda even called it unrideable.
But the Billy Bike, that's another story. That bike was just fine in all respects.

Between the absurd extensions, exaggerated rake and ridiculous bars I’m amazed that they lasted long enough to get shot by rednecks.
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

Strange, not one rider in that video knew a single thing about flat track or speedway speedway riding style or techniques. It would have been more appropriate with those style of bikes in the race to have them all on a road race track. I like Guy Martin but he'll do anything as long as there's a camera pointed at him.

The David Mann art work choppers I quite like.  Very rare to see one down these parts.  I like 'em because they are so stripped bare, probably awkward to ride, more a fashion statement and it sticks a finger to the man!  Respect to those who build and ride 'em.  Are we a bit like that?  Buying a pretty bare bones bike by modern standards, just to ride.  No GPS, riding modes and so on.  A more "pure' experience?
Hmmmm, do Enfield owners have smart watches?  I have a seiko dive and really cant be bothered will all the smart watch info, I have an Enfield and cant be bothered with heaps of plastic and electronics and stuff...

I hate to disillusion you but some Enfield owners embrace technology
My watch shows me my tire pressure, when I start my GT it begins recording video front & rear with time, GPS and speed stamps in the metadata. There is a Beeline Moto between the clocks, my helmet connects to my phone and there is a remote switch for that on my left handlebar.

The good thing is that the bike does not need any of it to function. All my digital goodies( which I really like) can die at any time and has no effect on the bike.
