This is much brighter than stock. Truly lights up the road at a distance at full beam at night and is a lot more visible during the daytime.

There are likely a lot of similar bulbs and others may be better, but this worked well for me….was going for more light.
Thank you for posting your results! The Meteor stock headlamp is lacking IMO.

So the consensus is that an H4 LED will work?

Yes, a H 4 led will work. Check the physical size specs though.

Incandescent vs. LED power draw is nominally 5/1. The LED throws a LOT more light for the same power, and/or uses roughly 1/5th the energy at the same lumens.
A trifecta of Pre-Unit Bullets: a Red Deluxe 500, a Green Standard 500, and a Black ES 350.

Upon seeing Dexter’s recommendation on the Tumile LED Headlight off of Amazon, I ordered a set.  I installed it yesterday afternoon, rode my bike home at 10pm and was amazed at how much more confident I felt riding because the road was so lit up with the LED bulb.  Highly recommended the upgrade to anyone wanting more lumens!

These fit nicely in my Meteor and Interceptor, but we’re about 2 mm too long in the rear to fit in a Himalayan bucket.

Santa was pretty cool this year and brought a pair of the Tumile LED bulbs. I installed one this afternoon and just got home from a 70 mile ride. Stopped for a bite in a town 20 miles south and rode home in darkness. These bulbs are terrific in the Meteor. THANK YOU GSS! Strictly 'plug 'n' play' with no mods necessary and now the low beam is perfect. Speed limit is 60 mph on the highway I used and visibility is far better than the stock Halogen. High beam's a little strange as it shoots a beam way ahead but diminishes the low beam coverage. I don't care because I'll doubtfully ever need it. Happy New Year everyone! ;D

There has not been anything on this topic for a while.  I would like to replace my meteor headlight with a LED.  What is the current thought on this a will it plug straight in and work.

Hi, I installed the Auxito H4 several months ago and it is still working perfectly - much brighter than the original. Very easy to install - plug and play. Thanks to Mr helicop for the Ebay link.

I guess Colin is interested in exchanging the complete headlight not only the bulb.
Have ordered a lamp ring from India (Dugdug Motorcycles) that should be the right size for taking a 7“ LED. Came after a few weeks but with no springs to fix the led light. Chrome quality was very poor and it was rusty on the inside :-[

Hi
No, just the bulb,  I don't want to complicate things more than I have too.
Getting too old for messing with techy things, just want more light and more riding.

Have now fitted the LED Headlamp Auxito H4.  Brilliant, fits straight out of the box.

Now people will be able to see me in daylight.
