Finally the custom sprocket is finished. Now i have a 16 t front sprocket in 520, and a 2.15x18” rear wheel.
Tire diameter is bigger, sidestand is perfect now. Weight saving roughly 5 kg with the chain.
In the next weeks hopefully i replace the bloody heavy triple clamps, ( they are steel!!!) and maybe the seat. Some pics of the progress:

That looks great!

Incredible weight savings!

I am jealous.

Can you please tell us what the costs of this transformation are?

Regards
Toni

Spent some time with the bike in the workshop again. 6000 km service and some paint.
Bought a scale.
Weight with full tank 163kg. Its ok for the moment, but still room for improvement. My goal would be 150kg. If i cross that bridge i have to go deeper in it: Aluminium tank with a bit less fuel, chop the subframe and build a new one, weld a new exhaust out of thinner pipe, no pillion footrests, and some other bits and pieces. And maybe a 462 kit, just to save some weight inside the engine😂. The downside: its only a single seater short trip tourer after that, but if i am honest, i dont want to travel around OZ on my Himmy, so maybe i will do it.

Outstanding workmanship and a great looking bike. In my experience the two don't always go hand and hand, but you did a terrific job.

Well yea BMW did have some good design features, but at the same time they had some particularly bad ones, those design engineers there just can't get everything right.
