I like the look of the stock seat but hated the way it felt. I repadded it myself and it's pretty good but I thought I'd look at some other options. I basically want something that is comfy for longer rides and looks good with the lines of the bike.
I've tried the Deluxe Solo that NField Gear sells which is a La Pera, not for me. Don't want a Lycette style, I don't like the look.
I was thinking of something like this:
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/803-143?utm_source=none&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&gclid=CMLViIKPmLQCFQ_hQgodP0YAJg
Just about the same size as stock. I'm not sure that it's going to be more comfortable, if it's not there's no point.
Or this:
http://www.plainjanerollers.com/servlet/the-1069/black-solo-seat-Harley/Detail
This is an old style Harley seat. About the same length front to back but 4 inches wider than stock. I'm sure the extra width would help with comfort but I wonder if it would look too wide.
Anyone ever use either of these? Comfy? Think the bottom would look too wide on my C5?
Thanks,
Scott

that looks like the butwalla(sp) on ebay sells.

this is the one i was thinking of:

Yeah, if not identical then copied from the same original. They reported good initial comfort but never gave a later update.

I've been eyeblling this one, but for fitment to my 01 Bullet due to arrive next week. Plenty of options on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Vintage-Style-Brown-Leather-Solo-Seat-Harley-/370694348470?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222001%26algo%3DSIC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D4139460745956278793%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D370671385694%26 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Vintage-Style-Brown-Leather-Solo-Seat-Harley-/370694348470?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222001%26algo%3DSIC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D4139460745956278793%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D370671385694%26)
I think if you get away from using "Royal Enfield" and just use 13" solo seat, or vintage, or the dreaded Harley search words you get a lot more items shown :)

Yup, I'm looking at that one too.

I came across some images of that seat on an Enfield, it looks good actually from all angles, only like a plow tractor seat from behind when parked, suitable for a wide load :o....butt when your sitting on it, what's the difference, ;D

Hey Guys,
I know this thread has gone cold, but I was searching through the archives while shopping around for a solo seat. Did any of you go through with purchasing any of the seats that were linked to?
Just curious about sizing, comfort, etc.
Thanks!

Too funny! When I saw this thread I thought, "Hey, that looks like a good thread. Wonder who started it?" :P
Anyway, no. Lack of money, time, etc. has limited my moto activities this past year. What little time I do get was spent riding or doing required maintenance. I have realized though that right now is exactly the time of year to get into projects. Usually I space until around March and then it's riding season again. I'm already ordering parts and planning work on some other projects. The seat is on my list.
Either I'm going to clean up the custom padded one I made and get it upholstered or maybe look at new ones again. I really like the old Harley seats, just wonder if it's going to look a little too wide on the bike. The C5 has a fairly trim old school british look and that seat could make it look more like the more bulky American contemporaries.

I have both this one:
and this:
they are both pretty comfortable and came with my bike (not new), along with the standard sixty 5 duel.
I had the larger 'american' one fitted for most of the times I rode it and found it to be pretty comfortable, thanks to the springs. But for me its way too wide (tiny hiny) but on the bike it doesnt seem too out of place. Personally I dont really like the look of either too much, though the first has a great vintage look. I'm working on making a custom real leather one whilst my bike is being Fireballed!

Maybe these folks could help

I have the "American Style" seats that bulletwalla sells. I ended up taking them off because my wife didn't like the feel of hers. I didn't mind my seat. It looked a lot higher then it really was. Right now, the pair collect dust. If you want 'em PM me.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input.
I had the same idea as I was watching the snow blow bye through the window - if I can't ride it, I might as well get started with some mods. God knows I'll need some extra time to sort out the mistakes I make on the first go around.
