Title: gas tank (any), 350 carb, shocks, forks
Post by: iceneweb on January 01, 2008, 05:50:18 pm
Hi all,

I have an ancient (1945), very rough looking 350 Indian Bullet that i just want to keep running. Right now the gas tank leaks so i am looking for ANY tank that would fit and not make a smelly mess. So if any of you who has recently fitted a different tank, ie trials or cafe and has a petrol-tight tank lying around then please let me know.

I am also looking for a carb, and some rear shocks.

Cheers!

Not sure quite what you have there but it sounds interesting.  The Bullet was not produced in UK until 1948 and not until 1955 in India.  What you might have is a Model G.  Is the oil tank in the front or the rear of the crankcase?

CMW had some gas tanks available for a reasonable price not too long ago and may still have some.  Your bike probably came with an Amal 276 carb but a monobloc or a concentric would work fine.  I'm using a 26mm (1") concentric on mine which is stock for a Triumph Trident so if there are any Triumph guys in your area you might try there.

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Srl,

I can't say right now where the oil tank is, and the previous owner mentioned something about the build year being incorrect.

Here's a couple of photos of the bike:

The carb rigth now is a Mikuni copy (Mikcarb?). Thanks for the tips re: gas tank and carbs.

For your interest, here are the numbers for the bike:
VIN G253608
ENG # A+2445

Cheers,

I have the 28mm carb that came with my 500 and a chrome/red tank that also came off of it.  The tank is in good condition with one small dent.  The carb also has the stock manifold to go with it.  Drop me a email if you are interested.
