Got an issue with my '64 that was sitting for years. Running now, but unable to engage gears when running as the clutch is not releasing fully. Cable adjustment does nothing. Took the clutch apart and cleaned it all as it was gummy from the old oil sludge but still no joy.
With the bike shut off, if I engage gear and pull the clutch lever I can see it all move as it should BUT when I kick it over the wheel will turn, even with the tire pushed against the ground/me sitting on the bike.
No bent discs in the assembly.
ETA: when I first got the engine running I could have sworn I was able to run it through the gears on the center stand and not have any grinding going into gears. I also feel that with the lever pulled the rear wheel would slow as would be expected. I believe this to be a new occurrence but had not touched anything with regard to the primary or transmission in between.
