the most expensive addon for me was a set of scorpion slipons i bought from someone on this forum. the rest have been pretty cheap (mostly official aftermarket RE parts from ebay, new seat, bar end mirrors, sump guard, led headlamp from aliexpress, piranha flyscreen, usb charger from hitchcocks, etc, etc, etc). doubt i've spent more than 1000$ CAD so far.

this bike doesnt need much alterations for my needs/tastes.

would i spend more if i knew a local tuner who could help with the whole HP increase or possibly 865cc kit? maybe. but dont know of any and its not in my ability to do this myself so ahh well.

My Corbin seat set me back the most at about $650.00. Slip-ons for $200.00. Various "bits and bobs" (for you, my British bros) such as black mudguards, grip wraps, adjustable levers, exhaust wrap, LED headlight bulb, bar end mirrors for a total additional $600.00 or so. I'm not counting tires and luggage. So, maybe 1500 bones or so. Well worth it.

I'm not sure how much more I'll need to spend though, I got it pretty much exactly how I want it now.

I'm cheap!

This is a third bike for me, and just a guilty pleasure, so my goal with it is to spend as little money on it as possible. After a full day test ride on a rental Interceptor, I didn't see anything about it that made me want to do any substantial modifications.

I bought a Givi rear rack so I could interchange my luggage with my other bikes, and made a good part of the money back by selling the rack that was on the bike when I bought it. Bought a clock and an LED headlight bulb on Amazon. Other items like LED auxiliary lights, an LED flashing brake light strip and the Givi mount plate were taken off of a previous bike and put on this one. It had a windscreen already which saved me a few bucks.

Other than that, I like the way it sounds, it has enough power for me, feels right, and makes me happy.

Öhlins suspension and fork kit, Zard exhaust, GT touring seat + cover. Euro 2000 in total.

The Öhlins stuff is the best investment I ever made for a bike. The Interceptor is rock solid and stable now, it next to  ignores all sorts of road imperfections. And overall I am riding much faster in curves due to much more confidence.

I bought Zard pipes for 1000€ and I thought I'm stupid. Then I realised that a Zard exhauster for a BMW R9T costs 5000€. At least I'm not the only one whot is stupid.

I never owned a bike that I didn't throw a lot of money into. Some items made it better, but some were plain stupid. No regrets. For me it's part of loving the ride and always trying to make the bike just a little bit better, even when it don't need it.  ( 1971 Honda CB350 with Ape hangers...and Ceriani roadracing forks )

Was that the whole system including headers?

Yes, I think it was the complete exhaust system, and probably titanium. I know that's much more then two pipes and not comparable at all. Anyhow, pretty expensive, the whole machine costs between 14.000 and 22.000€ in Germany (depending on the model)

I was lucky... the original owner bought the INT for his wife, she was a dirt bike rider considering riding streets, but didn't like it.  He put on some nice grips, bar risers, the touring seat, tank pads and a rear rack--all mods I would have considered myself.  I think that's between $300-350 that I didn't have to spend.

Yes, I think it was the complete exhaust system. I know that's much more then two pipes. Anyhow, pretty expensive, almost a quarter of the prices for the whole machine.

That's always the value conundrum. The quality of exhausts on the market these days is outstanding. The Full Titanium system for the BMW is extremely nice. Aftermarket full Ti systems for the latest Ducatis these days are around the $8000usd mark. You could only dream about being able to buy an exotic MotoGP bike quality exhaust like this 20 years ago.

Wait, forgot I spent fifty bucks for "Interceptor" side panels.

That was purely for looks. I rarely spend money on parts that aren't mechanically beneficial, but I didn't want to look at "INT".

I’m going to take the Fifth on this question.  I don’t even want to do the math.  One of the main reasons I bought the Interceptor was the availability of performance parts from S&S as well as bolt-on parts from Baak, Motogadget, Motone Customs and numerous others that I’ve since learned of (Sato Racing to mention one).  I also chopped the subframe and installed a custom seat.  It was a project bike from the start and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself and really broadened my knowledge but I’ll never go that deep again.  Except for a better seat and possibly a few cosmetic changes my next motorcycle will remain completely stock.

Mine's bone stock except for the seat, pipes, handlebar, grips, levers, mirrors, fly screen, and front fender.  Probably less than $1,200 in extras... although I do wish I'd have waited a little longer and purchased the RE Performance pipes from Hitchcock's.  I can live with the Tech slipon's but I wouldn't recommend them.
