Added 400 miles to the bike between last night and today… and of all the beautiful places the only one I remembered to take a photo was at a dealer… ashamed…

I was looking at alternatives to a Himalayan (to make sure before I buy the Himalayan)and stopped to look at a few KTMs…

Anyway… here is the unworthy  photo…

Last night I went to visit my brother at his business (food truck)… you can see my bike in the corner of a photo.

Last photo is me and my brother… he is the youngest of the boys… no bike in sight :)
Ride safe!

Stopped by the site of the former Seacliffe Lunatic Asylum today. It was built in 1883 and knocked down in 1959.
Lovely spot now but has the feel of a sad place. 37 women patients died when a locked ward burned in 1942.

Wow... great history at that site, what a grand building that is, they sure knew how to build them back then.

19th century people actually had quite a commitment to people with mental illness and spent a lot of money on facilities. Victoria has Beechworth asylum which still exists and converted to tourist accommodation and conference centre.

You can say it that way. But you can also say that society in these days didn't want to have handicaped people around them. And a lot of people did became "mad" due to restrictions and rules. Especially women. And a lot of people where declared "mad" to get them out of the way. I think it's good that such "Irrenhäuser" disappeared. Also from an architectural standpoint. But that's a matter of taste, like always.

Nice bike. I start to prefer silver alloy rims over black, they fit better to the bike's classic style.

Yep, they may have had good intentions when they built those places, but they became places of torment. Electric shock, leucotomy, isolation and abuse were common brutal 'therapies' for mental illness and other conditions often misdiagnosed as mental illness.

Bloody hot here today (37d - 98f) so i decided to head west ??? to check out some water tower Mural's at Lockhart (NSW) & Milbrulong (NSW), they need to trim the trees at the Muilbrulong Mural as you couldn't really get a decent look.

Nice shot, took me back to my teenage years. We had friends with wheat and sheep out of Rand and would stay with them.

Today while out riding through farming communities i was hammered with grasshoppers/locust's, i live in a rural town just outside of a major regional city so iam used to these jumpers, BUT today was on the next level, on one stretch of road they where soooo many of them smashing into my legs that it felt like needle pricks. Now ive gotta clean all the carange off, and i hate cleaning >:(

Dang...you prevented a plague all by yourself!

I rode through a swarm of bees last summer...hard to know how many lost their lives, but at least 50, maybe a 100.

Well technically it’s an sv650 I rented. Absolutely love this bike. Almost forgot how a bike with some proper power feels.

Currently in Nevada about 5000 feet up.

No idea what the range is but a 14.5L tank? Yes please. I feel like I would have run out of gas on my gt650 on some of these mountain loops. Different purpose I suppose.

But this Suzuki is definitely more nimble to ride, can do the ton in an instant and I dunno if it’s stock tires or what but I don’t feel any tramlining on these Nevada highways that all seem to have rain grooves everywhere.

Too bad it looks like a weird Ducati monster!
