I would really like to ad a traditional 60's style flyscreen to my 2011 B5. I want a small one, a "Dart Flyscreen" style would be ideal. I emailed Dart in England but they have not gotten back to me. I see screens advertised as flyscreens for sale but often these look like small windshields, not what I would call a real flyscreen. The NField Gear type does not fit a stock bike. So anyone got any leads?
Update - Just checked my email and I heard back from Dart Flyscreens, UK. They do not make one for RE. Too bad because theirs look perfect.

I have a Dart in light smoke from my Ducati I could sell you, but you'd have to make your own mounts. Hitchcocks has one that is welded or brazed right to the headlight ring. I think you'd need to be running the 7" headlight but it looks really slick. It's on this page towards the bottom:

I just ordered Hitchcocks. The last time a looked, about a week ago, they were out of stock. I see they have them there again. I have looked all over the world and could find anything I really wanted, although the Puig was a the best I'd seen, but none of the US importers have them and the foreign places I've found them apparently don't ship to the US. I tried Dart and never got a reply from them, either.

Search google for Small Motorcycle Windshields - Universal - there are some that make smaller wind deflector type for any bikes - mount to handle bars

I got the £69 flyscreen in this link.

In terms of keeping wind off your chest it is just about noticeable but in all honesty at typical Enfield cruising speeds it's not much of a problem for me anyway. Looks wise it is what I wanted but the chrome is very poor for the price. Touch it and it peels off. I might, (should), take it off and spray the rim black if I can ever be bothered.

I d0n't think anyone would buy this to keep the wind off. It's not going to do much. If you get into a major crouch, it will have some effect. I just ordered one for the styling. Manxes had them, why shouldn't I?
Sad to hear that the chrome is bad, though. I thought these were made in England.

I got my flyscreen from Hitchcocks installed today. It looks pretty good, but the chrome does suck. I had to enlarge the lower side holes and the chrome started peeling off there when I drilled them. The top of the rim where the clip comes through needed a little Dremel work and that started peeling, too. Pretty crappy stuff. Or pretty crappy chroming. Not properly prepped.
If you're really finicky about that stuff, I wouldn't recommend it. However it seems to be the only authentic classic fly screen out there, and if you want the nostalgic look, it's fine.
$127 to my door.

I normally ride with my fly zipped but I can understand how you guys who ride with your fly's open would want a screen of some kind to keep the bugs out.
Hopefully, it will also keep the wasps, bees and hornets out too?

Bare, pics?
And just put some 'Indian chrome' over the flakes. You can get it in the touch up paint section at your local auto shop ;) RE uses it on muffler welds and such.

They also use that "Indian Chrome" on the welds of the "Butterfly Engine Bar".
Oddly, no one has pointed at this afterweld 'chrome' and laughed yet.
Either they are being polite (Harley riders?) or the Indians are on to something here. ;D

I got one of the 7" headlight conversion rings off ebay from India. It's already all rusted to hell. I could get the Indian chrome and brush out but I really am going for the patina look- Just have to wait for the rest of the bike catches up. I want my enfield to look like a 'real' bike like lwt big cheese' bike.
Bare- I'm dying to see what that Hitchcock screen looks like. I've always liked the look of the screen on T.E. Lawrence' Brough and the Hitchcock setup is the only one that I think goes well with the headlight casquette.

I took a little 70 mile ride to check the flyscreen out. It didn't fall off, which was a relief with the luck I've had with the previous headlights.
Impressions are, the wind has moved up from hitting me on the chest to on my neck and face. Not really bad and, in fact, more comfortable than it was. It reduces pressure required to hold onto the bars. Not full windscreen, but better. You still want a little pressure on your upper body to keep the pressure off your wrists. It makes it just about right.
It transfers more engine noise up to my ears. I could barely hear the engine without the flyscreen. I can hear a lot more clattering now. Still sounds good!
Tucking in seems to gain more speed that it did previously. Must be why those Manx riders used them! It adds something to the bike even if it is only another way to keep it from looking stock.
Overall, 5 stars

Arizoni... NO PICS, please.

I emailed Allan at Hitchcock's about the chrome peeling, and after several back and forth discussions, he's sending me a new mount! I didn't really even ask him for one, just explained that the chrome is really poorly done and sent him some pictures. And noted that other people had a problem with it, too.
The chroming is done for them locally, so maybe he had a chat with the chromers.
He seems like a great guy.

Update, I rode a 300 miler and the flyscreen was great! it takes a lot of pressure of the upper body and makes the bike a lot less tiring. I was feeling great at the end of the ride. I'm ready for more!
One of the best mods I've made! I see why they had them on Norton Manxes and such!

I wasn't too impressed with the silver paint applied to the various welds on my 2012 Enfield Electra EFI's exhaust system (and rear brake pedal) when I bought it. Most of it was already flaking off ... A local motor factor suggested a very high temperature silver paint by Simonize. It comes as an aerosol, but I didn't apply it straight from the can. I sprayed some into a jar and used a small brush. I gave all the exhaust welds and the ridged exhaust flange 2 coats, with a decent run between. Even after a few weeks riding in the scottish winter, the finish is great. Check out:

Thanks for a great forum.

I like the subtle look of your flyscreen. Goes really well with your bike.
I have a larger windscreen that I've used on some of my other bikes and it definitely makes the ride so much more comfortable. I just don't like the looks of mine. It's a must on the I-5 though... keeps the bugs out of your teeth!

I wondered why they are called fly-screens ..... I now understand the origin of the name !
