It was a kind of rule back when I rode early Brit bikes that if a problem looked electrical you pulled apart all the connectors and dosed them with WD40 or similar. I've heard that the grease used in the factory often causes problems.

I thought about taking the connectors apart but my light might come on again. As long as the ignition is off maybe it won't. I am not sure about it though. I could always call and ask the dealer ::) ::) ::).
