My "new" 350 distributor has a grease zerk and bushings, my 500's are oiled ball bearings. How often do you need to grease these 350 bushing-type distributors?  Do you pump it full until you see it extrude out behind the advance mechanism? What's the drill - I find a resounding silence about this in my manuals. Hitchcocks says the OEM bushes are iron, and they sell new phosphor bronze bushes which are supposed to last "longer". What's longer mean, 5,000 miles? 50,000 miles?. What kind of service life can you expect before they get loose & worn? Anyone ever lived with these long term? Ebay has entire new 350 bushing-type distributors for $50 USD, the newer ball-bearing 500 style for about $100.
A trifecta of Bullets: a Red Deluxe 500, a Green Standard 500, and a Black ES 350.
